[ Chris' POV ]

"Are you feeling better, baby?" I ask Anna and put my hand over hers. She looks up from her coffee with a tired look, "Slightly. Just processing everything." But something about the way she says it and the way her eyes avoid mine says otherwise.

"Did I make you mad?" I ask her for the hundredth, probably making her even madder and she confirms my thoughts by groaning and muttering, "No, no, no, no, you didn't make me mad. Now stop asking."

"Are you on your period?" The words slip out of my mouth and a frown appears on Anna's annoyed face, "What? Are you serious?" She raises her eyebrows and shakes her head.

"I was just joking..." I defend myself. Way to fucking go Chris. Great. I should have known after the countless times I've said it to Jessica, that girls get even madder when you ask them if they're PMSing, "I'm sorry. I was trying to lighten the mood."

"Not working," Anna remarks. I have the urge to roll my eyes, but I have to be gentle and calm right now. None one of them are on my list of great personality traits.

"I don't wanna bring this up now... but I'm wondering.." I start, taking a swig of her coffee. I scrunch my nose when I swallow the coffee, which has way too much sugar in it. "I was wondering... Who's gonna get that key?" I look at her, a little nervous for her reaction.

"Why didn't you tell me that you want the money that's in the cabin?" she says suddenly me and I raise my eyebrows, "Why aren't you telling me the truth? What got your panties in a twist?"

"Why is it okay for you to keep things from me, but I can't do the same?" she clenches her jaw and holds the bridge of her nose.

"Let's just come clean then," I speak up after a few seconds and sigh, "Bernardo wants to put an end on the whole mafia thing, he wants to start a family on his own and stuff like that... But of course, when you're in this business, you're in it till your death. So, we reached an agreement. We give them the money that's in that damned cabin and we're out. For once and always." I leave a few details out, she doesn't have to know everything.

"Okay then..." Anna trails off and wraps her fingers around the steaming cup in front of her, "My granddad wants me to go get that key, but I actually wanted you to go with me. He told me the place where his friend is staying." Me? To go with her?

"You mean, like us? Going to Brazil?" I furrow my eyebrows and rub my neck, "It's not gonna be a problem for me... But I don't know how your parents will feel about this. Your mom doesn't know about my... job, right?" If her mom finds out about me being a part-time criminal, she will handcuff Anna to a bed and never let her leave without breathing down her neck.

"My grandpa will talk them into it," Anna shrugs carelessly and I feel like going back to that hospital and accusing her grandfather for giving her some kind of drug, because she's being weirdly calm.

"So that means we're going to Brazil?" I ask her and feel a bubbly, happy feeling in my stomach. I can finally prove that I'm being serious about this relationship!

"Well, if you want one of your friends to come too... That's fine," she shrugs again. Geez, I feel the excitement radiating off her.

"No, that's fine. Unless you want someone to come of course," I add quickly and wait for her response. She thinks for a second before opening her mouth again, "Yeah... I want to go with a group... Thinking about safety and all."

"I can pay for it," I say and want to flip off the middle aged lady, who's sitting next to us and has found interest in our conversation. I give her a murderous glare and she turns her head quickly before directing her attention to her child.

"I'm wondering where all that money is coming from. You're paying for the hotel already," Anna says and looks out the window, obviously feeling weird asking me this.

I clear my throat, "Well... Being in a gang and being involved with mafia has its perks. I have literally millions saved." She nods slowly, not asking further. And for once, I'm wishing she would'v opened that damn mouth and said something.

--

Anna's phone lights up when we're in our hotel room again. She took another shower, claiming that the towels are too soft for words, and is brushing her damp hair.

"Why is Jason calling you?" I frown and grab her phone, before Anna snatches it from my grip and presses it to her ear, "Hey Jason."

She perked up after her shower and we ended up in a discussion about how shitty the coffee in Starbucks actually is. If you're asking me, they charge way too much for a regular cup of coffee.

"Yeah, they're okay. Thanks for checking in," Anna says into the phone and sits next to me on the large bed.

"I haven't talked to Jes at all..." Anna frowns and looks over at me. I raise my eyebrows and brush a hand through my spiked hair.

"I haven't told him. I said that it was a mistake and I haven't told anyone," she holds an annoyed expression and I'm trying not to grab her phone and yell at Jason for making her mad again.

"It's sweet that you're calling, but it's not really your business," Anna tries to stop me as I grab the phone from her hand, "Yeah, Jason? Anna is busy right now, you can call her back."

I hang up and Anna pushes me softly, "Why did you do that? I'm not even busy right now." She starts laughing and I'm happy that she's not in a bad mood because of that dipshit. I will ask what he was talking about, but she needs to relax right now.

"Well, I think you are though," I smile and kiss her before she can talk back.

"I'm sure Jason can call me back later," Anna murmurs and I can feel her smile against my lips.

"Are you not mad anymore?" I whisper and move down to her neck, placing open mouthed kisses, which I know will drive her crazy.

"You're not playing fair," her breath is ragged and she's trying to hold down her moans.

"Sometimes you have to bend the rules to get what you want," I smirk against her soft skin and hover over her, ready to kiss her again.

"I'm sure to keep that in mind then," she smirks back and pulls me down again, our lips playing its own game.
