[ Anna's POV ]
"I'm so fucking tired, man. Let's just chill here for a while," Jack sighs and leans back on the couch, closing his eyes. "We haven't slept properly for what, two days?"
"Jack's got a point, yeah," Jessica sits down next to him and leans her head on his chest, closing her eyes.
Sammy wanders around the house, while Chris and I take place on the bed. He falls back on it and I rest my feet on his legs. "What do you think happened to the man and that branch?" I whisper and rest my head on his arm, looking up at him.
"I think that branch took care of our problem," Chris replies, also whispering. He yawns and closes his eyes.
"Do you think we kill-," Chris interrupts my sentence by throwing his arms around my head and murmurs into my hair. "Get some sleep, beautiful. Don't worry about it."
---
"How come you have your little bag, but Antonio took all of our shit?" Chris raises his eyebrows and stares at Jessica's purse.
"I demanded I got my purse back," she imitates Chris by raising her eyebrows and flips her hair, "I'm not traveling without it." She scoffs, like it's the most obvious thing in the world. And maybe it is. In her world.
"You got your purse, but my laptop is still in my bag and they have it," Sammy lifts his arms and sits up on the sofa. "Luckily for us, nobody can get in it."
"He's got our stuff too, the guns and shit," Chris sighs and my eyes widen. They had guns on them? "It's just for protection, but they took all of our bags," Chris looks at my shocked expression and rubs my arm.
"He has a soft spot for me," Jessica kisses her teeth and shrugs.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Jack frowns and looks at her.
"Do you remember the last time you... we had a conflict with Antonio?" Jessica purses her lips. "How do you think you got away with the drugs deal?"
Chris looks at me and widens his eyes, telling me this conversation is about to go downhill.
"Did you fuck him?" Jack yells and stands up. Chris starts laughing, dragging me to the bookcase. "Let's find that money somewhere in this cabin," he whispers into my hair as I face the books, ignoring Jack's yelling. I woke up from my one hour nap a few minutes ago and may I say, I've missed naps so bad. They're the best.
"Did you know about this?" Jack suddenly yells at Chris, making me jump a little.
"Look, it's your problematic relationship, not mine," Chris answers him and shrugs, turning around again to look for something on the shelf.
"My relationship is problematic? You met Anna through our fucked up plan!" Jack yells back and pushes Chris against the bookcase, a few books falling on the carpet.
"Stop fucking yapping, start searching. How faster we find the money, how faster we'll be out of here," Sammy walks towards the kitchen and opens the refrigerator.
"Would you rather get beaten up by his men? I don't think so. You're welcome, really," Jessica locks her jaw and avoids Jack's glare.
I bite on my lip, anticipating for Jack's reaction, but there's nothing. He turns his face away from Jessica's and sits back on the couch, far away from her. Great, they're fighting again.
I look at Chris, but he shrugs. I know comforting people besides me isn't really his 'thing', but I feel bad for Jack. I glance at Sammy, who's messing around with the pans in the kitchen. He doesn't look like he's about to comfort Jack either. I roll my eyes mentally, these boys act like they don't care about each other's feelings, but I know they would take a bullet for each other. I just wish they would act like it.
