It's been a long time

Chapter 16

Meredith 22, Derek 23 (continued)

Everyone slept in today. Their flight was at 8 tonight, so they didn't have anything to do.

Basically until 6, they sat around and made sure they packed everytbing they needed. "You guys ready?" Derek called. "Ready!" They all confirmed. The guys helped the girls lug their big suitcases into Marks car and they got in.

Mark and Addison sat in the front, while Derek and Meredith sat in the back. Mark turned up the radio, and the girls favorite song 'Where does the good go' was on. "I love this song!" Meredith exclaimed. "Me too!" Addison said.

"Where does the good go? Where does the good go?" The girls sang. Derek and Mark chuckled at their girlfriends energy and listened.

Once they all pulled in to the airport at 7, they got out, grabbed their suitcases, and began security. It went fairly quick, since it was late, but they were cutting it a little close. They boarded the plane soon After and sat down.

The plane engine roared and Meredith tensed. Derek put up the arm lift and put his arm around her. "You're okay." He whispered. Meredith melted into his arms and relaxed slightly. The plane took off and before they knew it, they were in the air.

Derek noticed Meredith kept nodding off and sitting up and he chuckled. "Mer, go to sleep. It's late. I'll be here." Derek reassured. Meredith mumbled something incoherent and rested her head on his chest. "Love you." She said muffled into his chest. "I love you too." Derek replied as he held her close.

"How much longer?" Addy complained. Mark chuckled. "2 hours. Try to sleep." Mark suggested. She mumbled something incoherent and closed her eyes.

When they arrived in Aruba, Derek and Mark woke up their girls and they got off the plane. "What time is it?" Meredith asked sleepily. "It's 2 in the morning back home, so it's 3 in the morning here. Once we get to the hotel we can sleep in all we want." Derek explained.

Everyone got their luggage and took the same cab to the hotel. The girls nodded off once again and the guys had to wake them.

"Wow!" Meredith exclaimed as she saw the front of the hotel. "Holy shit." Mark said. "It's nice, huh?" Derek asked, clearly proud of himself. "It's great." Addison agreed.

"Derek Shepherd." Derek said to the receptionist. "Room 109, 3rd floor." She said. Derek and Meredith nodded and waited for the other two to check in. "Room 110." Mark said as he and Addison lugged their luggage to the elevator. "What do you guys want to do in the morning?" Derek asked. "Sleep." Meredith replied. "Okay. Beach after maybe?" Mark asked. "Sounds good to me." Addison said as the elevator dinged and they got off of it.

They got to their rooms and parted ways for the night. Meredith collapsed on the bed the minute they walked in and fell asleep. Derek chuckled to himself and pulled off her jeans and sweater, leaving her in just panties and a bra. He lifted her up and tucked her safely in the bed and joined behind her. He kissed her hair softly and wrapped a protective arm around her abdomen and pulled her close. She sighed in contentment and snuggled into him.

In the morning, both couples woke up around noon and met in the lobby. "Good morning." Meredith said. "Morning." Mark and Addison said. "So the beach?" Derek asked. Everyone nodded and they went back to their rooms to change.

"You gonna wear the black bikini?" Derek asked with a smirk. "Why not?" Meredith replied as she changed in the bathroom and put a coverup on. Derek changed into some swim trunks and put a shirt on and once again they met Mark and Addison in the lobby.

They called a cab and entered. Throughout the drive, Meredith and Addison made small talk about the hotel rooms while Mark and Derek talked about a football game.

They got out and found a nice spot in front of the ocean. "Want to go in?" Mark asked. "Hell yeah." Derek replied. Meredith stripped her coverup and revealed her smooth toned abs. Derek removed his shirt and revealed his chest. Meredith smiled when she caught Derek looking her up and down and walked over. "Like what you see?" She whispered into his ear. "I do." Derek confirmed. "Youll see more tonight." Meredith whispered before running off to the water. Derek chased after her and the two dove into the water, Mark and Addison close behind. "Cold!" Addison squealed. Mark held Addison close and kissed her deeply.

Meredith wrapped her legs around dereks waist and hugged him close. "Thank you for this." She said genuinely. "No problem Mer. You needed this. We needed this." Derek replied as he kissed her. "I love you so much." She murmured. "I love you too Mer." He said.

The two couples were both so wrapped up in their own worlds, that they didn't even notice the people around them.

They swam for a while and talked until the girls got cold, and went back on to the beach. "Want to tan?" Addison asked. Meredith nodded and they both laid their towels down in the sand. They laid on their backs and closed their eyes while the sun beat down on them. Derek and Mark looked at their girls in amazement, wondering how lucky they were to have them.

A little later, Derek noticed a group of guys looking at Meredith and Addison, who both were on their stomachs. He nudged Mark slightly and pointed with his head to the group of guys. Mark scowled and looked back at Derek. "Wanna head back?" He asked. Derek nodded.

"You guys wanna go back?" Derek asked. The two girls nodded and when they stood up, Mark and Derek seemed to have the same idea. They both brought their girls in for a deep kiss, basically marking their territory.

"What was rhat for?" Meredith asked as she looked over his shoulder. That's when she noticed the group of guys staring her down. "Oh." Meredith said. Derek didn't usually get jealous, but when he did, Meredith found it hot. "Don't worry. I'm all yours." She whispered with a smirk. Derek blushed slightly and they packed up their stuff and left the beach.

The 4 sent dereks mom a picture of them they had someone took at the beach and Carolyn wanted to facetime. "Hi mom!" Derek said. "Hi Carolyn!" The others said. "Hi everyone! How is it over there?" Carolyn asked. "It's good! 84 degrees." Mark replied. "Wow! It's 40 here in Seattle!" Carolyn exclaimed.

They chatted for a while until Carolyn decided to go to bed. "Goodnight you guys. Be safe. Love you all." Carolyn said. "We love you too!" Meredith said as Derek ended the call.

"Goodnight guys." Addison said as they entered their hotel rooms. Both of the couples were definelty not going to bed, though.

Both couples spent the night making love to their partners, and they fell asleep in the comfort of each other's arms.
