Flash back (Kindergarten)
I walk into the room on my second day of kindergarten and I'm still nervous. Everytime mommy leaves me I cry but then at the end of the day, I would be ok. But Today is gonna be different. A boy commes up to me and snatches my lucky toy.
"Hey! That's mine!" I shouted
"So it's mine now I got it in my hands!" He tells me. Then he pushes me and I started crying. Then this boy came in and punched him in the arm
"Ouhhhh!" The mean boy shouted
"Its not nice to hit girls and take their stuff!" The nice boy said then he pushes the boy and helped me up.
"Thank-you." I said
"You're-welcome, I'm Joshua what's you're name?
"Ashley." I said then we smiled at eachother.
And from that day on we sat next to each other and stuck by each other all the time.
Present (High school) At lockers
"Ivy is like a god! She's beautiful and talented and you could stare at her for hours and hours." Josh says
"Why are you obsessed with Ivy, she's mean and petty and bitchy yet you're obsessed with her." I said
"Yea, what's your question?" He asked
"My question is why are you obsessed with her?" I asked
"it's like love, everyone else see's the worst in her but I see the best." Joshua says
"Love!?!!" I accidentaly blurted out ooppps
"What's your problem? I can be in love with a girl in high school?" He asked
"Of course you can. I'm in love." I said once again accidentally.
"OOO spill the beans, who is it?" He asked with excitement then I just looked down. "Oh I get it, you wanna be mysterious. Ok I cool with that." He says
"Josh, do you really think that you and Ivy will have a future?" I asked
"Well of course. But then again when I look at Trinity she's pretty hot too." He says
"Have you ever looked at me?" I asked. Wow did seriously say that out loud?
"You're kidding right?" He asked
"Yes! Of course I'm kidding." I said as I tried to play it off
"Good because it would be like looking at my sister!" He says then he closes his locker "See you in Art class." He says then he walks away
"Yea, bye!" I said. He just crushed my heart without knowing it. I closed my locker and walked to class.
During lunch.
The whole time we walked to lunch all he could talk about was Ivy. Ivy, Ivy, Ivy.
"Oh the way she looks at something with interest. You gotta love it." He says
"Did you watch the last episode of American Idol?" I asked randomly.
"Um no. It doesn't even come on anymore." He says
"Oh yea, I forgot I'd like to audition for the show though. Don't you think I have a lovely voice?" I asked
"Suuure!" He says
"What's that suppose to mean?" I asked
"Nothing I was joking. I think you have a lovely voice." He says
"Thank-you."I said with a smile Then we got some lunch.
"Oh hey Josh. I like your shirt." Ivy says
"Thanks, I like you, I mean your shirt. I like your shirt too." Joshua says.
"Well thank you. We'll talk later." Ivy says then she winks at him.
"Did you see that! She just hit on me. Oh yea. It's definitely on." He says and I just laughed. We sat down on a bench and then I saw him starring at her.
"Ok stop it! You are obsessed with her! And you need to stop starring. It's creepy." I said I could feel myself getting jealous and I couldn't control it.
"Ok fine, what should we talk about then?" He asked
"I don't know, animals, food." I said
"Oh wow fine lets talk about giraffe's. I always wondered how they had sex." He says then I started laughing
"Josh! Oh my god! I actually wonder that too." I said then we both started laughing.
"Wow, anyway. I have to ask you a question." He tells me
"Ok, What is it?" i said
"Do you think if I ask Ivy out to the winter prom that she'll except?" He asked
"Really!? You're seriously asking me that. We promised eachother that if we didn't have dates, we would go together." I told him.
"Yea, but I might already have one." He says
"Yea? But i don't, so you're just gonna ditch your best friend for some girl you have an obsession with." I said
"What the hell has gotten into you? You seem bitchier than usual. Maybe it PMS But what ever it is I don't like it." He says then he walks away from me.
"Damn, what you do? He's almost never mad." Ivy says
"Leave me alone." I said
"Ouch! Bitchy. But let me give you some advice. He's not interested in you. So lay off, or you'll lose him as a friend." She says .. I get up and walk out the cafeteria. Then she grabs my arm. "Hey, Do you mind if I go out with Josh. Ooo I think I'm gonna call him Joshy. Anyway do I need the bestfriends permition?" She asked
"Um, I don't know. I don't think so. He can date whoever he wants. Just not you." I said
"Oh that's funny. Is he suppose to date you? You know what? I think I'm gonna go back in there and make his dreams come true." She says. Then she walks back in the cafeteria and i folow her. By the time I get there she's already talking to Joshua. There's smiling and laughing and hair twirling and then I saw something I thought I'd never see. A kiss between Ivy and Joshua. My heart just broke. I walked back out the cafeteria and went to the bathroom. I was more mad than sad but I still cried. Then my friend, Sophia, came into the bathroom.
"Oh hey Ashley. Are you ok?" She asked then I flushed away my tears and turned around.
"Yea I'm fine. So it's good to see you again. It's like we drifted apart after you became friends with Ivy." I said
"Well you never really liked Ivy. Oh and did you see that kiss that her and Josh did? Woooh! hot, Hot, Hot! I think I saw a little tongue action." She says
"TONGUE!!" I shouted and she just looked at me with confussion. "I mean wow! Already!" I said trying to cover up my jealosy.
"I know right. anyway I have to pee so don't listen and excuse me." She says.
"No don't worry about it. I'm going to class anyway." I said
"Ok see ya in history." She says. Then I leave the bathroom and look around in the hallway. Suddeny I saw Joshua and Ivy walking together holding hands and giggling. I get sad again and turn around and walk the other way
"Hey Ashley. Why don't you come walk with us to class?" Josh says and Ivy gives me her bitchy smirk.
"Sure." I said. I walked towards them and walked with them to history. I felt like the third wheel but I'm not gonna let Ivy win and take him over that easily. If she really wants him like I want him Then she'll fight for him just like I do. May the best and persuasive girl win
