Question: You have someone who would become immortal and be with you forever. Would you choose to become immortal with them (or on your own if you prefer)?

"Bye big bro," Izzy said as she pulled out of the hug. It was three in the morning and Alec, Izzy and Jace had been on a mission that had taken quite a long time. It didn't really matter, because Magnus wouldn't be home till late, as in maybe six in the morning, because Magnus was out for an High Warlock meeting in LA, which was three hourse behind New York.

Magnus was going to come home earlier, but Alec made him stay for the party afterwards, so Alec wouldn't be surprised if Magnus came home really really late. The meeting had already gone on for a week, and Magnus had rung him this morning, saying that a conclusion was reached and that the party would be that night and that Magnus would be home soon.

Alec had grinned happily and after talking for a bit about nothing, both had hung up before carrying on with their day. Now, though, as Alec walked to the loft and opened the door, he felt a bit lonely. He had been staying at the Institute for the week and normally Jace and him crept up and spent the night up at the roof, talking and reminding each other of times in childhood.

Seeing Magnus was coming home today, Alec had decided to come to the loft, but he could not sleep on their bed without Magnus, so he sat down on the sofa and rung Magnus. Magnus picked up third ring.

"Darling, everything okay?" Magnus asked.

"Yeah," Alec said as his shoulder cracked, the mission taking a lot out of him and his sibilings, "I miss you, though."

"You forced me to go to the party," Magnus argued but he could hear Alec yawn and realised that his Shadowhunter needed sleep and possible a massage, "But I can Portal home right now."

"No, it's okay. I'm glad you'll be home soon," Alec whispered as he yawned.

"Oh, Alexander," Magnus murmured, "Sleep, sweetheart. I'll be with you soon."

Alec sniffled another yawn as he muttered, "I can't sleep without you."

Magnus 'awwww'ed into the phone and then whispered, "Alexander, just lie down. I'll say my goodbyes and be home in like fifteen minutes."

"No - no, you stay," Alec protested, "Have fun."

"Alec, shut up. You clearly need me with you and that's more important than this stupid party. Get ready for bed and lie down. I'll be there before you know it."

Alec hummed into the phone and then said, "Okay. See you soon."

"In a minute, my darling," Magnus promised and hung up as he wound around the crowd of warlocks, trying to find the people he had to say a 'goodbye' too.

Alec, on the other hand, got into his sleeping clothes and lied down, but realised that sleep was futile if Magnus wasn't next to him, especially when it was their bed in their loft. So Alec got up again and wandered into the kitchen, his eyes finding dishes pooled up in the sink.

Those were from that afternoon, when Alec, his sibilings, Clary and Simon had decided to come to the loft and when Clary and Simon had made lunch. Alec yawned again, but rolled up his sleeves and started to wash all the plates and utensils, trying to keep his mind off Magnus.

It took twenty minutes to clean the mess they had made that afternoon, but after washing up, Alec felt good that Magnus wouldn't come home to that. Alec sat down on the sofa and as if on cue, the door opened and Magnus walked inside, making Alec sigh in relief. He stood up, walked to Magnus and threw himself at the warlock.

Magnus caught him and they simply stood and hugged for what felt like eternity.

"My Alec," Magnus murmured, repeatedly kissing Alec's face as the Shadowhunter buried his face in Magnus' neck. "I missed you so much, my angel."

"I missed you more," Alec murmured as he pulled back minutely. He gazed into Magnus' eyes and slowly leaned in, now closing his eyes and meeting Magnus halfway for a kiss that was long over-due.

When they pulled back, Alec linked his fingers with Magnus', feeling the familiar rings adorning his warlock's fingers.

"I thought I told you to go to bed," Magnus said.

"Well, I couldn't sleep," Alec replied sheepishly, "Like, it was physically impossible."

"Aw, sweetheart. So you just sat and waited? You could've put the TV on," Magnus commented.

"Well," Alec said, "I did the dishes."

Magnus raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were staying at Institute?"

"I was. But we all came here for lunch. Simon and Clary cooked, but none of us thought to do the dishes, so I did them now," Alec explained.

"By 'all', I'm presuming you mean you, Jace, Isabelled, Clary and Simon?"

Alec nodded and then yawned.

"I could've done them with magic, sweetheart. You're already tired," Magnus sighed as he ruffled Alec's hair. Alec shruged as Magnus smiled and tugged him to the bedroom.

"Well, I'm here now. Lie down and try sleeping," Magnus said, but Alec whined, something that the badass Shadowhunter never did, and closed his hands around Magnus' wrist. He missed Magnus way too much.

"Okay, okay," Magnus muttered but he was smiling, "Move over."

Alec shuffled over so that Magnus could get in. Magnus stayed sat up against the headboard: he was going to get changed after Alec was sleeping and though he had magic, getting changed was something to be done by hand, not magic.

Alec moved closer to Magnus, eyes shut, and put his head on his boyfriend's lap, relaxing when one of Magnus' hands came around his shoulder and when another played with his hair. Magnus started singing a soft lullaby and Alec sniffled in surprise before closing his eyes again, letting Magnus's voice, no, Magnus himself, wash over him.

"Good night, Magnus," Alec whispered.

"Sleep tight, my darling," Magnus muttered back, before leaning down and pressing a kiss to Alec's forehead. Magnus ended up falling asleep sitting up, but he could not care less, not when he had Alec in his arms after a week. That was too long to stay away from his Alexander. Any time was too long to stay away from his Alexander.

A/N Ending is a bit bad, couldn't think of a decent exit line but oh well. Hope you enjoyed anyway! Please comment, vote and share!!

Answer: No, I'd never become immortal. The thought of never dying and living forever makes me uncomfortable, so nope.
