Magnus opened the door to his loft - well, his and Alec's - and made towards the bedroom. Alec's clothes were thrown on the bed and Magnus concluded that Alec must've came home from Patrol and was having a shower, for he could hear the shower. He could also hear something else. It was Alec a singing.

And the bigger thing that made Magnus' heart swell with love was the fact that the song was a soft Indonesian lullaby. Magnus audibly gasped as Alec hit each note with precision and as his voice flowed like a stream of water. Magnus knew that Alec had been trying to learn Indonesian but he didn't know his boyfriend was learing a song for Magnus.

Magnus presumed this explained the number of times he had heard Alec humming a familiar tune or the times Alec abruptly cutting off his voice if he was in the sitting room and Magnus came home from a client.

"Magnus," Alec breathed after he came out of the shower, wearing only a towel.

"Hey, darling," Magnus greeted, "How was your day?"

"Not too bad, what about yours?"

Alec slipped himself into a dressing gown as he walked over to pull Magnus into a hug.

"It was fine, honey," Magnus replied, melting into Alec's arms as a yawn escaped his lips.

"I'll make you something to eat and then we can sleep?" inquired Alec, smiling at Magnus.

"I'll help if you want," Magnus offered.

"Sure, but you seem shattered."

"Thanks, hon!"

Alec rolled his eyes, still grinning.

"But really," Alec said, "You sure you're fine?"

"Yes," reassured Magnus, with a small kiss behind Alec's ear, "Let's go make dinner."

The kitchen was a few meters away, but Magnus and Alec still walked close together with their hands interlinked.

"What do you want to eat, Magnus?" Alec asked.

"Whatever you can make the quickest so that we can get into bed and cuddle."

Alec laughed and went to look into the fridge, grabbing a bowl of lasagne that Magnus had made last night.

"I could just get takeout?" Magnus asked.

"We need to finish this lasagne, Magnus," Alec said sternly, "It can't stay in our fridge forever."

"But that will only be enough for one of us," Magnus whined, eyes drooping as he settled himself on the counter.

"I'll make soup for one of us," Alec said, relenting.

"Okay, but I think I deserve a 'hello' kiss first," Magnus said after being deep in thought for a few moments.

"So needy," Alec muttered but willingly gave Magnus a quick peck.

"Now you may make soup," Magnus announced and let go of Alec, who made a soup that probably tasted a little better than bad. He then re-heated the lasagne.

"Eat in bed?" Alec asked, knowing a few kisses and smiles will be needed to convince Magnus, seeing the warlock had deep affections for his gold and red sheets.

"But a bed is for sleeping, Alexander," Magnus said.

"And other things if we have dinner in bed," Alec added with a wink that left Magnus a bit speechless.

"Damnit, you know how to convince me," Magnus muttered but smiled a wicked smile as he slipped off the counter and took his bowl of lasagne into his arms. Once in the bedroom, Alec settled himself down and opened his arms, Magnus crashing into them immediately. It was a bit uncomfortable, but both managed their dinners.
