6 - Have A Good Day At Work

Alec reached for his phone, still half asleep. The alarm was doing his head in so as soon as the phone reached his hands, he snoozed it and cuddled closer to Magnus. Magnus, subconsciously, still asleep, pulled Alec closer.

The second alarm also got snoozed and and it was only on the third one that Alec actually woke up and struggled out of Magnus' loving grip. Magnus sleepily whined and opened an eye.

"Why are you up so early?" Magnus asked and pulled Alec down again. Alec grinned and kissed Magnus on the lips, making the warlock shiver.

"I need to get to the Institute, that's why," Alec responded trying to get back up again, only to be pulled back on top of Magnus due to magic.

"The evil Institute," Magnus said darkly and went for Alec's throat with his lips.

"Magnus. Stop. I'm all yours when I get back from work." Magnus glared from under Alec and Alec grinned before getting off Magnus and stretching. He was only wearing shorts and Magnus inhaled sharply as Alec's abs flattened out as he stretched.

"Liking the view?" Alec teased.

"Very much, my dear darling," Magnus answered and slided off the bed before going over to hug Alec. Alec buried his face in the crook of Magnus' neck and Magnus laughed heartily as Alec's dark curls tickled him.

"Good morning, Magnus," Alec whispered and for a moment Magnus thought that Alec was going to push him back onto bed. He wasn't.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Magnus whispered back and then figured that it was his duty to get Alec ready for work; Alec seemed determined not to break the embrace. "Come on, Alexander, you have an evil Institute to get to." 

Alec laughed and separated himself from Magnus before going into the shower, letting the warm water wake him up. He came back with only a towel wrapped around his waist. He went over to the wardrobe, brought out boxers, jeans and a shirt and started getting dressed. Just when Alec was nearly done buttoning up his shirt, all his buttons came undone, leaving back only a whisp of blue smoke. Alec turned to Magnus.

Magnus was sat leaning against the headboard. He shrugged innocently.

"The feisty Shadowhunter is unable to do his buttons up. Come on, I'll help." 

Alec grinned at this but went over to Magnus anyway and sat down. Magnus gathered Alec against him and started doing up the buttons, saving the one at the collar for last. When he got there, he pressed a kiss to Alec's neck before buttoning it up. He kissed Alec's pulse-point at his right wrist before doing up the button there and did the same on the left side.

"I wonder why I couldn't do my buttons up," Alec mused.

"Definitely no magic involved," Magnus said and Alec looked at him with narrow eyes.

"No, definitely not."

Magnus grinned widely and pulled Alec against him so that the Shadowhunter was leaning on the warlock's chest.

"What do you want for breakfast, my dear?" Magnus asked.

"Croissant?" Alec suggested and Magnus magicked up two croissants and started munching on one, giving the other to Alec. As soon as he finished eating, Alec was up on his feet, straightening out his shirt and kissing Magnus on the head. 

"I'll be back before you know it," Alec said, slowly exiting the bedroom.

"Do you want a Portal?" Magnus asked.

"I'm good. Thanks though."

"Of course," Magnus smiled, "Have a good day at work."

"I'm sure it'll be okay unless Jace decides to sing." Magnus laughed and touched two fingers to his heart and made a flicking gesture towards Alec. Alec opened his palm and found a glowing pulse of blue light. Alec then closed his fist around it. 

"Thank you," Alec whispered, but loud enough for Magnus to hear. Magnus only smiled and Alec made his way out of the loft, towards the evil Institute.
