Part 6:

"No, Magnus, that's not it at all," Alec said, trying to find the right words, "I want to. But I think we're both a bit nervous for tomorrow and I know you said you wanted a bit of time to think over it. Maybe... I don't know... It's silly, I suppose. I'd just..."

"You want to wait until tomorrow... After I've told you so that you can help me, because you know I need it," Magnus finished for him, "God, Alexander, what did I do to deserve you?"

"Just being you, obviously," Alec answered and kissed Magnus on the cheek now that the warlock had rolled away and was laying on his side, looking at Alec in awe.

"Good night, sweetheart," Magnus mumbled, pulling Alec into his arms.

"Night, Magnus."

Part 7 – I Love You

Magnus and Alec awoke early in the morning and with no clue as to where they were going, Alec stepped into the Portal Magnus had created. Magnus had told him that they can come back for their bags after this short visit.

They seemed to be in a garden. Magnus was breathing snappily, and Alec tightened his hands around Magnus.

"Only what you want to show and tell me, Magnus," Alec reassured, and Magnus nodded at him before leading him to the corner of the garden. There were only three flowers in that patch, arranged in a circle. There was a red rose, a white rose, and a yellow rose.

Without warning, Magnus started talking: "My birth mother realised I was part demon, a warlock, and she killed herself. My human father blamed me for her death and decided that it would be best if... If he killed me. He tried to drown me, but I – I burnt him. With my magic. Burnt him straight from head to toe. And I had nowhere to go. But I still ran away. That's when I saw the Silent Brothers and they helped me.

When those demons attacked in Venice, I exhausted my magic and when that happens, the memories of my childhood always come back, but they seem so real, and I have so many nightmares.

I didn't want you to see this side of me. The side that still dwelled on the past. The side that still couldn't get over his parent's death. His awful past."

Alec didn't say anything. He only hugged Magnus and Magnus melted right there and he sobbed. But with Alec's hands around him, he composed himself fairly quickly and looked Alec in the eye, scared for his reaction.

"I'm so sorry, Magnus," Alec said, surprising Magnus, "You shouldn't have gone through that. You didn't deserve that. I'm so, so sorry. And don't feel guilty about it Magnus. You went through something traumatic and when your father tried that... It wasn't your fault, Magnus. You had to save yourself. Otherwise, I wouldn't have met you. You wouldn't be who you are today, Magnus."

"Y – you don't think I'm a monster?" Magnus' voice trembled, "You're not going to leave me?"

"Oh, Magnus," Alec sighed, "You're the furthest thing from a monster. And no, I'm never going to leave you. I'm going to be here as long as you want me to."

"That'd be for eternity, then, my darling," Magnus whispered.

"Look, Magnus," Alec said, cupping his cheek, "Whoever has told you that you were a monster because of your past actions doesn't know the choices you had, they don't know the trauma you endured. I'm not saying I do, because I don't either, but I know who you are now, and that in itself is enough for me to know that you're not a monster. Your past actions made you what you are now, so they won't ever change what I feel for you, Magnus.
