Chapter Twenty Nine

"One sec," I say from the other side before taking a deep breath and opening the door.

"I didn't mean to like.. Scare you off..." Erana says immediately and I exhale seeing it's her on the other side.

I crease my eyebrows at what she had said, "What are you talking about?" I ask and she shrugs looking away.

"I feel like I made you uncomfortable.." She says and I shake my head.

"You've never made me uncomfortable, when you're far..? That's when I'm uncomfortable," I assure her and grab her hand.

"I know but I'm always so needy and you're always there for me and i'm never consistent like that for you..." She says her eyes meeting mine.

"Let's not even worry about that tonight.. Please? This is our last night together for awhile let's go enjoy it?" I suggest and she nods.

I tug at her wrist before pulling her into a hug wrapping my arms around her neck as she squeezed around my waist.

"I love you," I whisper.

"I love you too," She says quietly and we part, our faces still inches away from each other.

My hand was on her shoulders and hers were at my sides. I begin to lean in and she follows my lead our lips just grazing upon each other's.

"Came to see what was happening," Brody says causing us both to pull away as quick as possible.

We both clear our throat and look to the other for guidance of what to say next.

Brody stood in front of us with a smile on his face as he looked between us both.

"What..? You guys look like you've seen a ghost," He laughs and we both awkwardly join him.

Erana goes back to the living room reclaiming her spot.

"Do you mind if I crash here?" Brody stopped me, placing his hand on my arm.

"Oh um no well I mean I have an early morning I'm probably gonna head to bed after this movie so I won't be much fun," I say and he creases his eyebrows.

I really just want to spend tonight with Erana.

"You sure?" He asks rubbing both of my arms and I smile and nod.

"Well I'll see you in the morning?" He says in a questioning tone and I nod with a smile.

"Yes of course!" I say relieved he's not pushing sleeping over anymore.

"Okay well I'm gonna leave you to it then.." He says and I smile up at him.

He looks to me and I can sense he's moving in so I lean in as well meeting his lips for a second before I pull away.

"Night!" I say and hug him.

"Yeah.. night.." He mumbles and heads towards the door as I jump on the couch with Erana.

"See ya Erana," He says waving towards her. "Later," She replies and we both watch as he walks out.

I look over to her before she runs and locks the door.

"About time!" She says and throws her hands up causing me to laugh.

She runs over jumping on top of me and begins to tickle me.

I try to continue breathing but it was difficult when so much was happening at once.

I manage to gain control and shove her off but she comes right back, this time no tickles involved.

She leans over and captures my lips unexpectedly and I grab onto her face making sure to give off the same energy she was.

She pushes me down on the couch and hovers over me continuing to kiss me passionately.

My legs wrap around her small body and pull her down against me, her lips fleeing mine as she fell into my neck.

"You drive me insane," I say, trying to catch my breath.

"I drive myself insane," She says lifting her head to look at me.

"I thought you were talking to someone?" I ask and she looks away but looks back not long after.

"I thought you were talking to someone?" She repeats me and I curl my lips in holding back a smile.

"It's just.." I begin.

"Not the same" We both say and it makes me relieved we were finally on the same page with something.

"Are we still going to go on the vacation to Bora Bora?" She asks and I smile seeing as though she remembered.

"Of course.." I whisper and lean foreword kissing her forehead.

"Can we go to your bed?" She asks and I nod unwrapping my legs from her and allowing her to stand up.

"Mia I am so sorry.." She says as we stand and I look to her confused.

"Erana not tonight.." I reply and she shakes her head.

"No I don't want to have to say this over text or in a letter. I truly am sorry for the way I've acted. I've never been in love or even loved someone to the extent I love you and I guess in a way I just self destructed and convinced myself you didn't want me and I got scared so I pushed you away... I didn't realize how far I'd gone until even talking to you was difficult.." She says and I nod setting down the couch pillow.

"I'm just.. I'm sorry.. And I'm not even saying this to fix things I know we've got our own things or whatever going on but I want you to know that your feelings Mia... They were never ever one sided. I'm just a stupid bitch who likes to play hard to get," She adds and I listen to each word carefully.

She feels bad but she doesn't want to fix things.

That's what I've gathered from what she's said to me.

"I mean it's okay. I just wish you'd realize how important you are to me and I'd literally do anything to be in your life even as friends." I reply and she smiles.

"I know.. And I'm so glad that I have you and Mia I mean it when I say you'll always have me even if Im being dumb like I have been these past few months I'm always here for whatever you need," She tells me and I look into her soft brown eyes.

"Whether we're together or not, Erana, you're my girl," I say and I can see the tears begin to overflow in her eyes so I quickly bring my thumb to wipe them.

"You're my girl too.." She responds and melts into my hand closing her eyes.

"Stop crying.." I say and she opens up her eyes and laughs. "Easier said than done," She tells me and I nod.

"Come on," I insist and grab her hand pulling her to my bedroom.

We cuddle up in the bed and hold each other close.

I was basically on top of the brunette the entire night and not once did she complain.

This too felt... Bittersweet. As if it's the end of something and that really made my heart sting.
