Jaemin always knew that ice hockey was a dangerous game, he knew that the players could suffer life changing injuries but he never for a moment thought that it would change his life. He watched as the puck gravitated towards the goal, the goalie reaching out with his gloved hand but the black object flew over it and hit against the back of the goal. Jaemin could hear the cheering crowds around him, he even felt the excitement pulse all throughout his chest. But that all went to hell when he watched his everything drop to his knees his glove-less hands reaching up to his neck, Jaemin felt his heart drop.

He shoved himself out of the box and onto the ice, being a figure skater he knew what he was getting himself into when he quickly challenged his feet to carry him to Jeno. The poor boy's face losing colour as the seconds passed. Jaemin grabbed him by the shoulders the moment he was close enough, his eyes filling with tears as he quickly accessed the scene.

The other team's player was on the ground with a bloody ice skate, his eyes blown wide as he finally registered what happened. His shout brought the attention of the rest of the team, who figured Jaemin was coming out to celebrate now that Jeno had won the game. Oh how much he wished for it to be as simple as that.

"Jeno keep pressure on it!" Jaemin hissed, watching through his tear filled eyes as Jeno's hand was beginning to fall the weight of gravity pulling it down. He tore his hoodie off his entire body on fire as he tried to save the player before him, Jeno watched him with frozen dull eyes as he crumpled the hoodie and got it ready. When he nodded the player took his hand away, the blood that had been collecting in the palm of his hand finally spilt on the floor making Jaemin's eyes go wide as he shoved the hoodie against Jeno's neck.

Within a moment the referee was by his side, staring at the situation in shock while his colleague was already on the phone with the ambulance. Jaemin prayed through his tears that they would arrive in time, Jeno was using too much of his strength to stay up. When he felt Jeno start to go limp Jaemin didn't hold back as he slapped the boy's cheek, all the while keeping pressure on his neck. Jeno blinked back at him in response, trying to offer him a small smile but the pain was just too much.

"What happened?" Haechan panted, looking at Jaemin before turning to look at Jeno who just blinked back at him.

"When he fell the player's skate came up and caught him in the neck," Jaemin managed to get out through his pants. "he's going to bleed out. I can't look at the cut, we have to keep pressure on it."

"The ambulance will be here any moment," the coach explained, getting onto his knees as he helped keep pressure on his player's neck. Jaemin allowed him to take control, turning his entire attention onto keeping Jeno awake and responsive. He was glad that the player was smart enough to have taken off his gloves, which he quickly used to his advantage taking Jeno's left hand into his own. "hang in there kiddo."

"If you can hear me and are still with us squeeze my hand." Jaemin tried to speak calmly even though the tears trailing down his face was enough to give away his emotions. Jeno's grip was weak but he could still feel the little strain. "Does it hurt?"

"What kind of question is that-" the ref began to say but Johnny glared at him, stopping him from completing his sentence.

When Jaemin wasn't able to get another grip he looked into Jeno's eyes and then he understood. Jeno didn't feel pain. This was worse than he thought.

"It doesn't hurt.." he stated looking over to Johnny whose eyes just widened. Everyone looked towards the doors hoping that they would burst open with the ambulance team at the ready. They turned back to Jeno when they heard Johnny gasp. The player had slumped backwards his face dangerously pale, blood poured out over Jaemin's hoodie. He could hear the stands go into choas, every member on Jeno's team began pulling off their jerseys offering it up to their teammate who was on the brink of passing out from blood loss. Jaemin fought back the tears in his throat, willing himself not to spill anything more. He took Mark's already gathered jersey and collided it against Jeno's neck again, Johnny taking Yangyang's just in case.
