Requested- Jeno has been oblivious to Jaemin's love for awhile now, unfortunately it takes for him to get a boyfriend for the truth to be revealed. Some angst but with a happy ending!

The salt from his tears burned the wound on his lower lip, the palm of his hands shaking from the force of his fists. Jaemin tried to keep his emotions at bay, trying to fight against the ball of pain in his throat. His heart ached within his chest, his eyes unable to see anything through the thick layer of water building up from his frustration.

The door to his bedroom slammed open, the noise making him jump in his seat. Footsteps echoed off the walls, each step made it harder and harder for Jaemin to breathe. The air was struggling to enter his lungs, his body heaving in an attempt to source air.

A gentle touch set his heart aflame, the delicate heat against his chin instantly had Jaemin relax, his shoulders dropping on either side of his head. He allowed the person before him to gently lift his chin, his head tilting back as a result of the touch. Out of instinct his eyes closed, the last few remnants of his tears trickled over his cheekbone and down the slope of his skin until it reached his chin. A thumb gently caressed the tear-stained cheek, wiping the scattered tears away with it.

Jaemin dared to take a glance, his fingers cracking as his fist grew tighter. His lashes fluttered open, eyes squinting beneath the burning fluorescent light of his bedroom. He could only make out the shadow of the man currently stroking his face, blinking faster in hopes that his vision would clear up.

"Are you hurt?" The voice questioned, tone deep and unhinged. This man was annoyed, possibly even frustrated but his actions were calculated and gentle. He wasn't going to take out his annoyance on Jaemin.

And yet a shiver still shook through him, shaking his very foundation. Out of instinct he nuzzled closer into the man's hand seeking warmth and comfort, the reality of the past couple of days forcing him to jolt right back. He straightened his shoulders and pulled himself away, allowing himself to shift higher up onto the bed. The man watched him go, hand falling right back down to his side again.

"You shouldn't even be here," Jaemin sniffed, his legs curling up to press against his chest. "your boyfriend is waiting for you outside."

"Oh don't you worry about that," Jeno spat, fire burning within his eyes. "I'll deal with him after I'm certain you're okay."

Jaemin's brows furrowed in the centre of his forehead, his hands growing clammy as they wrapped themselves around his legs. "What's with the sudden concern? You haven't cared about my feelings at all lately."

"That's not true." Jeno snapped back almost instantly. Jaemin blinked at him. "I've constantly been taking your feelings into account these past couple of days-"

"No you haven't!" Jaemin screamed back, tears threatening to spill all over again. "If you had done that like you say you would have, you wouldn't have gotten with him in the first place!"

"Jaemin-"

"Shut up!" He cried, pushing himself up and off the bed. "I'm sick of hearing you talk about him, I'm sick of feeling awful everytime I'm near him, I'm sick of the way he keeps belittling me and ramming your relationship down my throat!"

"I'm sorry Jaemin, next time it won't happen again! I'll find someone who treasures you the way I do-"

"Do you really hate the idea of being with me so much?" Jaemin scoffed, allowing himself to look his best friend in the eye. Jeno's jaw dropped. "Have you ever even considered being with me...?" His voice cut out, breaking with a whole new batch of tears and emotion.

Jeno stepped forward, his mind looking for words to speak but ultimately he came up empty. His opened arms fell to his sides, his jaw clamping shut. He stared at Jaemin's shaking figure, the boy standing with his back to him. "Jaem-" he tried but hearing his best friend's broken sobs prevented him from continuing.
