"Bobby, why wasn't Serge at work today?" Helga asked her husband worriedly.
"He's not your son, don't worry about him. He's a man." Bobby said going back to reading the newspaper.
"He was supposed to take Debbie home the other night. And she wasn't at work either. I haven't heard from her."
"You worry too much, woman. Go get me a beer."
"Hey, family." Serge said, walking through the door.
"Serge, what happened to your face?" Helga asked.
"Just a little fight, nothing for you to worry about." He said covering where Roger hit him.
"Son, how was it? Did you get it done?" Bobby asked as Serge sat beside him on the couch.
"Wonderful, dad. It was worth it." Serge said laughing.
"I guess she enjoyed it also." Bobby said laughing.
"I'm sure she did. Soon she'll be calling for more."
"What are you two talking about?" Helga asked, thinking about Deborah.
Serge stood up and gave Helga a kiss on her cheek. "Don't worry, I didn't hear a peep out of her all night." He said, patting her hand.
"No, you didn't?" She said, grabbing her purse.
"Oh yes, I did."
"You pig!" She said running out of the house as Bobby and Serge laughed.
Deborah drove to the bar and parked. She got out and looked for a phone. She called Helga. Her older daughter, Carrie, answered. "Hi, Carrie, it's aunt Debbie, but don't tell your daddy or brother. Just put your mommy on the phone."
"She's not here baby." Serge answered. "She freaked out after I told her about all the fun we had last night. I think she's jealous." He said laughing.
"Fuck you, Serge. I hope you rot in hell!" She said, slamming the phone down. She ran to her car, but saw Helga opening the bar. "Helga!" She called and ran to meet her friend and hugged her.
"Please, tell me it isn't true. Tell me he didn't rape you." She said holding Deborah's face.
"He did, Helga. It was terrible, how could he do that to me? We used to date. I thought he cared about me. I actually had feelings for the bastard!" Deborah said, crying.
"Oh, honey. I know how you feel." Of course Helga knew how she felt. Bobby had raped her when she was 17 and her family forced her to marry him. That's why she had to leave. She didn't want to marry Serge if it came to it.
"I need your help." Deborah said.
"Anything, just tell me."
"I need money. Is there a chance I can get the money Bobby owes me?"
"Of course, come with me, but we have to be quick before he comes." Helga went through Bobby's desk and pulled out an envelope filled with money and handed it to Deborah.
"Helga, this is too much. How much is in here?"
"Ten thousand."
"What? I can't take all this." She said, trying to give her friend the envelope back.
"Take it, they have to pay for what they did. He probably won't even notice it's gone for a while."
"But Helga, it's too much."
"Shut up and just get out of here." Helga said, giving her a hug and pushing her out the door.
