"What are we going to do?" Serge said, pacing through the small room. "Are we going after them?"
"Not yet. They might be watching her. But don't worry, we are going to get them and they are both dead!" Roger said, cleaning his gun.
"How long do you think we can hide in here for?"
"As long as we need to. Your dad will bring us food and anything we need."
"I should've known that guy would come for her! We should've killed him when we had the chance. I was so close, she was already giving up, barely fighting me."
"I wonder how he got the address, Serge. Who's idea was to have Helga see her?"
"We needed a woman to clean her up and make her look presentable for Charles. Do you think she did it? That bitch! She's going to get it."
Helga wiped the counter as the Captain and another police officer walked in. "Ma'am. Can we speak with Serge Putt?" The Captain asked.
"He's not here."
"We've been to his place and he wasn't there. Do you know when he will be?"
"Haven't seen him in a couple of days."
"Is that common for him to disappear like that?"
"Can I help you?" Bobby asked, coming out of the office and seeing Helga acting nervously.
"Yes, we are looking for Serge Putt."
"That's my son. Why are you looking for him?"
"Are you Bob Putt?" The Captain asked, looking at Helga.
"Yes I am."
"We need you to come down to the station to answer some questions."
"About what?"
"About the relationship between your son and Deborah Thompson."
"You mean Deborah Putt, that's his wife."
"Yeah, names were never changed. Shall we?" He asked, pointing to the door.
"I'll meet you over there in a few. I have a bar to run."
The Captain looked around the empty bar. "I'm sure this young woman can handle it without you for a few."
Bobby looked at Helga. "Give me a moment." He grabbed her arm and pulled her into the office. "You better not screw up or you'll get it, you hear me?"
"Yes, Bobby." She swallowed hard.
He left the office and walked out of the bar with them. She quickly called Shawn's cabin. "Hello?" Deborah answered.
"Deborah. It's Helga."
"Helga, thank you for what you did!"
"Are you safe?"
"Yes. I'm staying back at Shawn's cabin."
"He told me he didn't remember you."
"Yes, when Roger and Serge beat him up, he lost like four years of memories."
"I'm so sorry, but at least he still came through and saved you. There is still hope for you two."
"No, he got married. And has a kid on the way. Enough of that. How are things over there?"
"Serge has been missing for over a week, I'm guessing since you left. Did you talk to the cops?"
"I went to the Captain, he was friends with my father."
"I think it was him that just came by asking for Serge and he just took Bobby to question him."
"I hope they find them, lock them up and lose the keys!"
"I'm so glad you got away. I didn't want this life for you."
"Helga, you can get away too. Think about your kids. You are young."
"I'm too scared of him. Plus, I don't have any help from my family."
"When was the last time you spoke to them?"
"The night Bobby and I got married."
"That was over five years ago. Reach out to them. Do it right now. Then go home, pack your kids and leave."
"I will!" Helga said. "I'm going to do it right now."
"Good, call me and let me know how it goes."
Helga hung up and dialed her mother. "Hello?" Her mother, Catherine Lawson, answered.
"Mom?"
"Who is this?"
"It's me Helga."
There was silence on the line. "Helga." She finally said and started crying. "Oh, honey. How are you?"
"Not good, mom. Why would you force me to marry my rapist and then disowned me?"
"We were wrong. We weren't thinking straight. We regret it so much."
"Why haven't you tried to reach out?"
"We have, multiple times. But Bobby said you didn't want to speak to us. After what we did, we believed him."
"That's not true. I'm in hell, mom. He beats me up, rapes me constantly. I have three wonderful kids that I love with all my heart that I wish you could meet."
"Come home. Get your kids and come home, we'll deal with everything when you're here!"
"Thank you, mom. I'll be there soon." Helga hung up and ran out of the bar. Picked up the kids from the nanny and drove home fast.
