"Change that face. You're getting married." Roger told Deborah as they waited in the chapel.

"I can't believe you're forcing me to do this."

He grabbed her by the back of her neck and pushed her against a wall. "Look, Deborah. I'm getting really tired of your attitude. Do you want to kill dad the same way you killed mom? Because he will die when the news tells the whole town what you did. He will die of embarrassment. Now, you're going to look happy and walk down the aisle to your future husband. Let me see you smile."

He let her go and she rubbed her neck before turning around and smiling at him. "Happy now?"

"Now, don't cause any trouble. Bobby is just a call away. He's really ratting you out." He said, pushing her through the door.

During the ceremony, Roger watched from the side as a witness. "I declare you, husband and wife. You can kiss." The officiant said as Serge grabbed the back of her head and kissed her hard. She struggle in his arms to get away.

"I don't see you enjoying it." Roger whispered behind her. She stopped fighting and let Serge slobber all over her. "Now, time to go. You'll have all the time in the world to play with her." He said to Serge grabbing her arm and pulling her outside and back in the car.

"You know dad's not going to agree with this. He'll know I was forced." She said as Serge started the car.

"She's right." Serge said to Roger.

"Why do you think I had you two get married before we get home? It's done already, she belongs to you. Dad won't want a scandal. So you'll have a very submissive wife. Won't he?" He said digging the gun hard into her ribs, making her jump. He grabbed her chin hard and made her look at him. "Won't he?"

"Yes." She said crying.

"Stop crying. Leave that for the wedding night." He said as he and Serge laughed. "And that's only a few hours away. We are almost home."

It was late when they arrived. Serge drove them straight to James' house. Roger pulled her out. "Could you stop manhandling me? You got me here already. You married me off, what else do you want?" She said as tears started to form in her eyes again.

"You are going to behave. When dad asks where you've been, you're going to tell him that you really ran away with Serge and got married. Understood?" He said.

"Yes."

"And wipe those tears away, I'm not going to repeat myself."

Deborah entered the house. It was quiet. She climbed the stairs to James' room. She slowly knocked. "Yes?" He asked.

"It's me, Deborah."

"Come in!"

She opened the door and saw her father laying in bed. He was pale and weak. "Dad! What's going on? What's wrong with you?"

He extended his hand for her to take it and pulled her towards him. "Nobody knows, Deborah. Where have you been? Are you okay? You look so tired."

"We tried to make it back as fast as we could." She said sitting down on a chair next to him without letting go of his hand.

"Why did you leave?"

"I left with Serge." She lied as a knot formed on her throat.

"What? But, Deborah, he raped you! Why would you leave with him?"

"We love each other. Okay?" She said getting up abruptly. "And we... we got married."

"No, tell me it isn't true."

"I'm sorry, dad. But he wants to take care of me."

"Are you pregnant? Is that why you did it?"

"I was, but that's not the reason. We love each other. Can you understand that?"

"I saw the way you looked at him after he raped you. There was no love there!" He said and started coughing. She grabbed a glass of water from the nightstand and handed it to him.

"Well, we talked after that and I changed my mind. He's the one I've always loved. And I want to be with him."

"What can he offer you? He works for his father in that dump, he dropped out of school and lives in a house that is falling apart. You deserve better than that."

"Dad." She started crying and threw herself on top of him.

"What's going on? Tell me the truth."

"Hey, dad." Roger said, walking into the room giving Deborah a look.

"Hey, son. Is it true? Did Deborah and Serge get married?"

"Yes, I found them shaking up together all happy. She never even left town." He said as James looked disappointed at Deborah.

"You were in town this whole time?" James asked. "Why did you say that you guys tried to get here as fast as you could? I talked to you a couple days ago."

"I'm sorry, dad."

"What is done is done. Is this what you really want?"

"Yes, dad."

"Okay, but I'm getting you guys a new place. I can't have you living in that dump."

"You don't have to, dad."

"I'm going to. Tomorrow morning. Today, you're staying here."

"Dad, her husband is waiting for her downstairs to go back home." Roger said, pissed.

"You can tell him that my daughter is staying here tonight. He's had her for a couple of months. I need her right now!"

"Fine." Roger mumbled and left the room.

Deborah hugged her father. "Goodnight." She told him and went to her room. She took a shower and laid on her bed crying.
