the look of pain in her eyes as evident as she bounced up and down on the yellow medicine ball. mike watched from the bed. the way she closed her eyes and let out a soft sigh. her stomach red, almost as if it was angry that the baby lex carried in her stomach was not out by now. lex was exactly forty weeks pregnant and their daughter had no wishes in meeting the parents anytime soon.
mike crawled out of bed. slowly approaching his fiancé as she continued to bounce up and down. sitting next to her as his hand softly squeezed her thighs making her open her eyes. her green eyes looking at his hazel eyes sadly, a couple of tears streaming down her eyes before she let out a choked up sob making mike help her down the ball, her body meshing with his back as he slowly rubbed her belly. their daughter moving at the suddenly pressure from his hands, "i know i'm being selfish and i should be thankful i am able to carry our daughter full term," tears were streaming down her face as she continued to try explain that she couldn't do this anymore, "but i'm miserable. i can't breathe. my body hurts, and i miss seeing my toes."
those cries for help seemed so pointless in the sense. it was things that one took for granted and looking at things at a different perspective, lex loved and knew how blessed she was to be able to create life because a lot of woman couldn't do so. but, that didn't change the fact that she was in so much pain.
mike kissed her cheek. he felt so helpless because there was nothing he could, "i got you." he reassured.
