haylee examined lex. it had been since the since she last since she last seen her. she had spent all her summer with mike and was now
so occupied with school and haylee rarely left san francisco as she was home with twins. "you look fat." haylee spoke making lex look at her with a dumbfounded expression as she brought back the drinks. haylee wanted to blame her postpartum hormones but haylee had a mouth on her, regardless.

"that's not exactly a sound you want to hear from someone you haven't seen in a while."
lex countered back, and maybe she had been putting on weight but she was so busy recently that sometimes that easiest thing to do at night was to order postmates and them deliver her food to her, "i think i'm gaining the freshmen fifteen as a junior." she finally added but haylee was having none of that.

"i don't think that's what it is?" haylee added, her lips wrapped around her straw earning a glare from lex who shook her head, "you use protection?"

lex widened her eyes as haylee was just on a roll right now and lex needed her to slow down, "i'm on the pill, hayls. you know this."

haylee shrugged, "you know they aren't always effective, just saying." haylee added making her best friend feel self conscious, "does mike use protection?"

shaking her head no. lex and mike had left that stage of using protection. they both knew lex was on the pill, so why use it? it was reckless of you asked anyone, but someone try and tell them otherwise, "not anymore." lex trailed off, her eyes narrowing as she looked at haylee. there was no way. absolutely no way she could be. it didn't add up. she was cautious. took her pill on the dot and rarely skipped days, but never skipped when she was with mike, it was their golden rule, "you're making me paranoid!" lex hissed, trying to contain her volume in a public setting.

haylee shrugged again, she didn't care. lex was not fat. god it was obvious that there was no such thing as the freshmen fifteen that was going around in lex's body. if anything, it was the seed of a man who was 6'10 and weighed over two hundred pounds inside a very small woman, "you're pregnant!" haylee concluded what she had been wanting to say since the conversation started, "look at you, alexia! this ain't no freshmen fifteen bullshit! you're growing a mini mike in there."

lex shook her head. there was no way in hell, "nope." she spoke, "no way. there's no way."

haylee rolled her eyes as she gathered her belongings and got up to start pushing the stroller that had liam and camryn sleeping peacefully, and lex watched her with confusion traced on her face, "let's go see, come on!" he pressured as she watched that lex wasn't moving at all. she was frozen to her chair and haylee didn't blame her, because she couldn't believe that everyone had risk to realize that lex was actually pregnant.

"where are we going?" she asked watching as haylee moved quickly to get to lex's car.

"to prove to you i'm right." haylee smiled, that smile that lex hated because usually it was followed by an 'i told you so' and haylee loved to boast.

back in her apartment with water bottles flooding her island she had mikes contact name pulled up, unsure and how she would tell mike that haylee thought she was pregnant. finally pressing the video option on her phone, she watched as the phone rung no more than three times before mikes bright smile appeared on her lips as he was in his car, his curls pressed to his forehead as he had just left practice, "i was about to call you." mike spoke, as he started his car, the boy denver sun showed no mercy as they were in the midst of august right before the season started, "what's up, baby?"

"michael!" haylee screeched from where she sat devouring the chips from lex's pantry- being a mom of twins  was no joke.

"is that haylee?" mike asked as lex nodded, "hey hayls! how are my favorite twins? haylee swallowed before answering mike

"they're sleeping right now. they sleep just as much as their aunt lex." she smirked

mike chuckled as he returned his attention to his fiancé who's green eyes held angst in them, "what's wrong?" he asked as he watched as lex let out a breathy sigh and fixed her bun, "lex?"

"haylee's dumbass thinks i'm pregnant and now i'm stressed." lex finally aired which earned remark from her best friend who wouldn't let the fact that lex wholeheartedly believe she had gained the freshmen fifteen, "i just think i got the freshmen fifteen later than most."

mike was sitting in his car confused and unsure of what to do if it did come back that lex was pregnant. it would change so many things in their lives. regardless, he would be there, "have you taken the test?" he asked and lex shook her head no

"i wanted you to be here for everything, even if that means through facetime." lex smiled, "but i've been holding in my pee for a hot minute now, so i'm gonna mute you while i do it."

lex rushed with her phone in her hand, followed by haylee who stood outside the door and she could already taste glory in her mouth. finally unmuting her phone, lex began to wash her hands as mike waited anxiously, "now we just wait five minutes."

"what if you are pregnant?" mike asked, as lex finally opened the door to let haylee in.

lex hadn't put much thought into it. honestly, she was still in denial and wasn't sure if she wanted the test to be positive or negative, "then i am, i guess." she answered truthfully, "i know it wouldn't be what we planned but it is what it is."

the timer on haylee's phone went off and lex felt her heart stop pounding for a second as she watched as haylee looked at the test before looking at her best friend. haylee and lex had been there in that exact same position almost over a year ago. the difference now was that the test were actually positive, "i told you so." she boasted as she handed lex the test, "i told you!"

lex looked at the two test that read pregnant on them and then she looked at mike, "pregnant." she spoke
