lex was on the road back to San Francisco after attending a launch party in Los Angeles when haylee called her about the news of her engagement getting out, "it's all over the internet." haylee spoke as lex ran a hand through her hair.
"i know." she spoke. though she didn't care about the media finding out, she just wanted things to be on their own terms. no need to rush anything. maybe mike and her never actually wanted to share the news, maybe they wanted to keep it to themselves and never actually share it. yet, this was the life they lived. at a hundred miles per hour, every little thing of their lives shared, being watched by thousands of thousand of hundreds people wanting to eat them alive and know every detail, "i just got off the phone with him."
between lex and mike. mike only shared what was necessary. game post but rarely anything about his private life, the nba lifestyle allowed him that much. lex, she shared more. she was the one that had to share ads after ads and the tiniest sneak peak of her life.
"what did he say?" haylee asked.
"it's up to me," she spoke and lex was torn because maybe she did want to keep for themselves, "i'll figure it out. i'm like an hour and a half away, i'll be home soon."
haylee nodded, "that's fine. be careful. love you."
"love you too."
