Chapter 7: Beach, Troubles & Dean.

Back to Ellie's POV!

We almost kissed.

I don't know whether I should be happy or sad or confused about it. I mean, I've only known Dean for 2 weeks now. Does he like me? I don't even know if I like him that way. I've only thought of him as a friend and nothing more. But he's been there for me and I thank him for that. Something might spark up in the future but for now I'm taking it slow.

"Are you ready?!" yelled Jeremy knocking furiously at my door. I groaned and flung my beach bag on my shoulder "I'll meet you at the car! Go!"

"HURRY!" He yelled and I heard him walking away.

I immediately slipped on my flip flops. I tied my hair in a messy bun and rushed outside. The moment I reached downstairs, mom called out for me. I groaned silently. What does she want?

"Yes mother?" I asked waiting impatiently. I heard Jeremy's car horn blare and I groaned at him as well.

"Here, food" She came over and handed me a picnic basket. I held it and nodded "Bye!" with that I rushed out of the door towards Jeremy's car.

Dean was already seated in the front seat. He gave me a small smile that made my heart melt.

He's adorable.

I opened the trunk and threw my stuff in there. When everything was stuffed inside, I hurried towards the backseat and got in only to see the famous Stella and Jacob.

I smiled instantly the moment I saw them. These guys have been Jeremy's best friends since I was born! We were neighbors and they always used to be together. When they grew up, Jacob fell in love with Stella and blah, blah, you know the rest. Now they're engaged. Jeremy was very happy for the both of them. I was too! They're the cutest couple!

"Hey Ellie!" Jacob smiled at me and I smiled back closing the door behind me "It's been a while!" Stella said "You're all grown up now!"

I shrugged "I'm still the same. How are you two?! When's the wedding?"

Stella grinned and held Jacobs hand "At the end of the summer and guess who's going to be one of my brides mates?"

"No!" My eyes widened in shock "Me?!"

Stella nodded and I squealed "I can't believe it!"

"I'll call you up so we could go dress shopping" Stella gripped Jacobs' hand tightly as Jeremy started pulling the car out of the drive way.

"It's okay baby" Jacob kissed her head "Nothing's going to happen, I'm here for you"

"How did you guys get involved in that accident?" asked Jeremy furrowing his eyebrows.

Jacob sighed "We were driving home and it was raining heavily, I couldn't see the car in front of me and I crashed. I just thank God that no one was seriously injured"

"Wow" Jeremy breathed "Well, I am an excellent driver Stells, no need to be scared"

"Yeah right! Says the guy who crashed his dads car 3 times in less than a week!" Jacob said and I burst out laughing. That’s true. When dad finally agreed to let Jeremy use his car, Jeremy crashed it three times! I still remember the look on dad's face when he saw his car a wreck. Mom of course didn't care. She only cared if Jeremy was okay or not.

"Hey!" Jeremy defended himself "I wasn't used to the car!"

"Excuses, excuses" Stella laughed.

"Ah Dean, you should have seen Jeremy when he was about your age. He was crazy. He even tried to steal his uncles' car to be able to go to a party"
