The night was going amazingly well, we spent most of the time flirting, holding hands and kissing every once in a while. The day started out pretty nicely, school and stuff, Dean and Kyle were still a little bit hostile towards each other but things can change. Work was a little boring because we were just excited to get out of here. Dean was being very amazing and the moment we finished work, he grabbed my hand and took off sprinting to his car. He put on a nice song on the radio and we sang a long to it laughing all the way to the resturaunt. Now we were sitting on a table for two in the middle. A couple of people were there but that was about it. We ordered our food and it was just simply amazing.
I made the right decision for once in my life. He was the one for me and I could imagine spending the rest of my life with such an amazing guy.
"Ellie" His beautiful husky voice broke me out of my thoughts "Yeah?" I asked softly, admiring every feature in that beautiful face.
He cleared his throat and rested his hands on the tabel that was seperating us.
"I have been wanting to talk to you about something, it's been bothering me and I don't know if it's true or not" Dean said, for a moment I thought he was going to break up with me.
"Okay..." I trailed.
"The other day, Carter said something about me not being able to stand up for myself. Being me, I just ignored him. But he's been throwing in a couple of insults my way and I can't tolerate it. I trust you and you're my girl friend but I need to ask you this, do you have any clue why is he saying that?"
Shit.
"Uhm, yeah" I squeaked and Dean gave me a confused yet adorable look.
"Well..." I started "It's kind of a long story"
I told him everything from that day that Kyle confessed he misses me till the science project part.
They think Dean is a wuss because I told Kyle to make his friends step away from him and they thought that Dean was a coward he couldn't step up to them himself. His man pride went woosh down the drain and I was the one who caused it.
Dean was silent for a while and it made me worry.
"Dean I'm sorry... I didn't mean it that way" I said quietly and he just stared ahead "I need to go" He mumbled and stood up.
"Dean wait!" I caught his arm before he left and stared pleadingly at him "Don't leave. yell at me. hit me. do whatever. Just don't leave"
Dean took in a deep breath "I fucking appreciate your concern but that was not your decision to make. I am capable of taking care of myself and I don't need just a little girl to try and protect me."
Ouch.
"Not only that. But you've kept what happened between you and Kyle a secret?! Are you really that scared for him that I might hurt that little bastard? You know what?! Why don't you just fucking go and run into his arms because I'm done with this shit."
Tears welled up in my eyes "No Dean don't say that, Dean please"
He hissed silently with his teeth clenched and his body rigid.
"My fucking pride is way far more important than anything else, do you understand me?" He whispered angrily as people started looking at us.
"Just because I was trying to protect you?" A few tears escaped but I was trying to be composed.
Dean hit the table angrily "It's not your fucking job!"
"THEN WHAT IS?! TELL ME?" I yelled and all eyes were on us "I'm your fucking girlfriend! My job is to look out for you"
