"I'm fine" I said, my voice a little hoarse from the all coughing.

Jeremy gave me a bored look and I groaned. It's been 3 hours since I was diagnosed with Lupus. Honestly, I had no clue what Lupus is up until the doctor explained. The only thing I understood was that my immune system decided to attack my lungs. The good thing is I'm not going to die! They're going to give me medications with some weird names and a cough syrup.

You don’t' want to see me when I'm under the influence of the cough syrup. I turn into this drunk ass crazy retard. Last time I had cough syrup, I was at Kyle's house and he was having a small family gathering. They were all telling stories and I just joined them by telling them how I am going to go and climb Mount Everest in the near future and they were all laughing at me. The good thing is they liked my sense of humor even though I was not kidding. Someday, somehow, I will climb Mount Everest.

For a girl who had just been diagnosed with a serious illness, I was pretty calm about it. My body felt a little weird though and I had a sore throat with a slight tummy ache and nausea and a little bit of difficulty breathing so they had to put this tube thing up my nose. It itches.

"When am I going to get out of here?" I asked Jeremy and he shook his head "You just got here. They still need to clear your lungs and make sure you're completely alright before we go home. That might take a day or two probably"

I groaned "Great" I hate hospitals.

"This is how it goes, we're going to insert a thin, hollow, plastic tube through your ribs in the back of your chest and into the chest wall. A syringe is attached to draw fluid out of the chest. This procedure can remove more than 6 cups (1.5 liters) of fluid at a time. And if it got infected we're going to have to keep you in. This is an easy procedure. If you want we can put you on a general anesthesia or regional but I prefer general "The doctor explained and I felt uncomfortable about the whole thing. Imagine a tube going into your back. Gah. This sucks.

"We'll start now" He said and I nodded "Yeah, let's just get this over with"

"Alright then, I'll be right back" The doctor walked out of the room leaving me alone with Jeremy. Mom and dad left a while ago and Dean left as well. His mom wanted him home.

"Are you sure?" Jeremy squeezed my hand and I nodded "It's scary but I don't want to wait" Sighing,

I placed my head against the pillow and closed my eyes "Jeremy"

"Yeah?"

"Please don't go" I whispered tightening my grip around his hand "Stay with me"

Jeremy sighed and softly rubbed his thumb against my hand "I wish…"

I was a bit disappointed but I already saw it coming. Jeremy's leaving. He's leaving me all alone. My parents won't check on me if he left and Dean has stuff to do other than me. I swear it is unfair.

"When are you leaving?" I asked him and he frowned "After tomorrow"

Sigh

"Alright" the doctor walked in carrying a booklet, a couple of nurses followed him dragging a huge box filled with the stuff they're going to put inside of me. I gulped and squeezed Jeremy's hand.

"We'll call you in when we're done" The doctor told Jeremy and Jeremy nodded standing up. He kissed my forehead and took his hand out of mine and made his way out of the room.

I laid down fully and stared at the doctor with a worried face, he just nodded slowly "Don't worry, you'll be sleeping through it all"

The nurse put the plastic mask on my nose and in no time, I was fast asleep.
