"Hurry up, Ellie! You're going to miss it!"
Jeremy called out for me, I grabbed the last stack of burgers and walked outside to where my family and Dean's mom were having a barbeque. It was already the 4th of July. Yeah, time passed by really fast.
After that incident Joe wouldn't let me work for about a week. I was fine but she was really worried about me, unlike my mother who didn't even bother coming to see me at the hospital. I stayed there for one day, just for checks up and stuff. Oh! And they caught the bad guys.
What really sucks about this whole thing is that Dean and Jeremy are acting super overprotective it's not funny. I don't want to complain about it, really because it makes me feel important. Anyways back to me handing dad the burgers.
"Light it up!" Dean yelled at Jeremy who was on his knees trying to light up a small firework rocket. Hailey was standing next to them giggling with excitement.
"Back away!" Jeremy stood up dragging Hailey with him backwards.
3 seconds later, a whoosh filled the air as the sky burst with colors. I stared at it with awe and happiness. Fireworks always amused me.
"Another one!" Hailey jumped up and down squealing.
"Calm down, hails!" Carrie said to her daughter who was gawking at Jeremy as he started lighting up another one.
"Come on kids, food is ready!" Dad yelled and we all gathered around the table. Mom and Carrie already set out the table. We all grabbed a seat and dug in the food.
When I was done, I excused myself and made my way to my room. I washed my hands and brushed my teeth then decided to lay down on the bed as a horrible headache came along. I have been having weird headaches for the past week and not to mention the fatigue. I think I'm getting the flu… Damn it.
"Ellie" Someone shook me lightly. I hummed quietly and slowly opened my eyes to find Dean standing in front of me with a worried look on his face "Are you okay?"
I nodded "I'm fine"
"It's 10 pm, Ellie" The moment he said that I snapped my head up in shock. I only wanted to take a little nap instead, I slept for 5 hours.
"Sorry for waking you up, just wanted to make sure if you're okay… you can go back to sleep if you want" He said and I nodded quietly slipping back down underneath the warm covers.
"Sleep tight" He kissed my forehead and walked out as I went back to sleep.
Next morning same thing. I was tired and I had a horrible, horrible headache but I ignored it and decided to go out with Dean and Hailey to the fun center.
"Dean, Dean! Look!" Hailey called out for Dean as she jumped into a pool filled with colored balls.
"Good job!" Dean yelled back and Hailey giggled as she continued playing around.
Dean and I were sitting at a café watching her play around and making sure she stays in sight.
"What would you like to drink?" A waitress came by our table and asked us.
"Uhm, orange juice, please" Dean said and turned to look at me "Ellie?"
"Uh, just water" I mumbled trying to hide the pain. I needed some aspirin "Do you guys by any chance have some aspirin?" I asked helplessly. The waitress nodded "I have some in my purse, I'll get them for you"
"Thanks a lot" I said turning to look at Hailey who was busy climbing the small ladder.
"Anything else?" She asked and Dean shook his head "No thank you"
