"Raven, I'm all done painting your nails. Now you paint mine, and please tell me about your trip." London interrupting my thoughts. I looked at my nails thinking of what she might do when I tell her about Oliver and I.
Well this ought to be interesting...
"You go first." I insisted avoiding telling her about my trip. I didn't know where to start.
She eyed my confusingly. She shrugged and started rambling, "Well, I took over for the time being. I gave Marcus the day off. I'm working on the security. Everyone's getting training. We have Adeline staying with us right now getting leads on your attackers."
I looked her nails talking to her as I painted her nails midnight black. Only one question I had stood out from the rest. "Did you follow any of Jefferson's advice?" She didn't say anything, she just watched me paint her nails. "London, what did you do?" I stopped painting her nails and looked her in the eye. My voice was low and dark with anxiety laced around the words.
"I followed his advice about letting him take over for today." London admitted so faint I almost didn't hear. My eyes were wide and my mind was running wild.
I got off the bed and grabbed the phone and called Jefferson's phone. He answered with a very strong voice. "Jefferson."
"Hi, this is Raven. I just got back today and I'll be taking over. You can go back to your job now." I ordered worried what he's messed up already.
"Your highness, it's really-" he started but I cut him off before he could finish. I had no interest in hearing him.
"Jefferson, go back to your regular job, that's an order." I hung up the phone before he had a chance to respond. I slowly turned my head looking at London.
Her eyes were wide and she was slightly shaking. My jaw was clenched and I bet my eyes got that much darker. "Did you forget what happened the last time Jefferson was put in charge?" I asked her really wondering what she was thinking.
"Raven, I'm sorry. I just thought since we were going to spend today together, that Jefferson should take over for a day." I watched as closely as she rambled.
"This will be the last time I tell you this, don't ever follow his advice or let him in charge." I lectured her with my voice stern.
I sat on the bed again across from London. I took in a deep breath and continued to paint her nails. She eyed me worryingly. I gave her a reassuring look.
She sighed heavily. "So, how was your trip." She asked me changing the subject. Her voice was now back to its more cheerful tone.
"Eventful." I said plainly focusing on not messing up her nails.
"Mind explaining?" She wanted me to continue. I looked back up at her and figured I might as well talk tell her.
"Oliver." I signed heavily now thinking about the trip. I wasn't sure what to think. London titled her head to the side confused, but now hooked. "We kissed a few times." I revealed lowly.
She squealed like a little girl. Her eyes begging me to continue. I shook my head at her child like reaction. "We're taking it slow, no labels."
"Aww! Ravens got a crush!" She gushed in pitch voice. I chuckled lightly. "So, are you going to say anything else?" I shook my head wanting to see her reaction. "Come on! Tell me!"she begged loudly.
"There's nothing more to tell." I said finishing up her nails. She fanned her nails frustrated that I wouldn't tell her anything.
Oliver came in the room with the bags. I genuinely laughed at him. His face was bright red and he was breathing heavily. London started laughing with me.
"Thanks for the help." Oliver choked out throwing the bags down. He fell on the bed exhausted.
"Hey,were having a girls day, get out." London ordered without hesitation. Oliver looks at her with annoyance.
He looked at me wanting to stay. I giggled and pointed to the door. He rolled his eyes getting up. He was almost out the door, but he came back and kissed my cheek sweetly before walking out the door.
London giggled and I just rolled my eyes. "He's pretty smitten with you." I looked down feeling the heat rise to my face. "So, let's get dressed up! Oh and also I have some news." I looked at her confused and a bit worried.
