It was dark. Dark clouds circling. I was laying on my hands and knees crying. My head felt like it was about to explode. I was on top of Dermot's grave that had a few specks of grass starting to grow. He was standing behind it looking at me with a cold, hostile face.
It's all my fault. He would still be here if I wasn't a monster. He would still be alive. He wouldn't be buried six feet under ground. Dermot I'm so sorry. I should have done more. I shouldn't have been selfish. I'm sorry.
I woke up crying and shaking. "Your highness! Wake up!"' Oliver shook me awake. He was wearing a black tank top and was still in his uniform red pants.
I couldn't think. In my head the nightmare was still there torturing my emotions. My head was still spinning round and round pleading insanity. "Are you alight?" Oliver asked me dumbly.
That's the dumbest question I've been heard.
"Yes nit wit I'm fine. Now go to bed." I said pushing him away and rolling myself in my duvet. He seemed a bit taken back by my actions.
He better get used to it.
"No your not." He retorted with a slightly defensive tone.
"Then why the hell did you ask if you knew the answer." I turned my head so I could look him in the eye when he speaks, It helps to read people. He was standing there looking at me with this what-the-hell-is-wrong with you face.
He better fix his face if he still wants it.
"It's rhetorical, that's what people say when someone is screaming in their sleep." He replied with frustration linking in his voice.
"Well you should fix that. There's no point in asking a question that you don't want answered, especially one so stupid. Maybe next time say what's wrong." I suggest in an arrogant tone. His face turned a bit red and his jaw clenched as his patience seemed to be ruining out.
"Fine, your highness, what's wrong?" He asked lowly.
"Nothing, what's wrong with you?" I said provoking him. I wanted to see what he was gonna do. I could read his mind and find out what I wanted by just reading him, but there's no fun in that.
"Your being more difficult than needed in this situation ma'am."
"I don't see where your coming from, but that's your dumbass opinion." And that's where I really got him. His face was more red than before, his fists balled up, his jaw clenched, it was a sight to be seen. Maybe I should've sent out invitations.
"There's no point in saying 'dumbass' in a place it doesn't belong."
"Who made you the dumbass police?"
"No ones opinion is a 'dumbass opinion'."
"Oh, but there is. If I don't care about it, if it's stupid, if it doesn't effect me, then it's a dumbass opinion."
"Not everything is about you."
Did he just really? Oh god how naïve this boy is...
I sat up resting my body weight on my hands. "Excuse me? This is my room, my castle, my guards, my money, my water, my people, my ground, my world. Everything that exists belongs to me. So yes it's about me and always will be. Everyday second of every minute of every hour of everyday, week, and night belongs to me and will always be about me. It will never be anybody else's time but mine, got it?" I said with aggression. He just shook his head in disbelief. "Do I need to go over it again?"
"No, I just can't believe you."
"Well believe it kid. Nothing will ever change."
"Your ego is bigger than this universe times three."
I laid back down and closed my eyes facing the opposite direction from Oliver. "Yeah well get used to it. This is what you'll be dealing with for the rest of your days, unless you want to back out." He just shook his head and went back to the sofa and crawled into a ball. "Night princess Nancy." I said with a grin. I heard a ruffle from the couch and I smiled.
Shouldn't be too much longer and this boy will be running for the hills.
