I walked inside the castle with me wiping my tears aways. I rushed to my room but Jefferson had stopped me. He wore a grey suit and his thin body towered over me. He had his hair styled possessively as usual.
"What?" I asked cruelly stopping in front of him staring at him with a deadly glare. My deep purple eyes held anger and were darker than usual.
"Did Mona tell you I needed to see you?" He asked me blankly stepping back knowing how I was always on the edge. Jefferson had been in my presence long enough to know me like a book, but someone proceeded to act the way I was opposed to.
"Yes, and I'm sure whatever it is you can handle it. Oh, and by the way, don't ever tell Mona to do anything ever again. It's not her job to pass on messages." I told him lowly pointing my bony finger in his face while he stared cautiously back at me.
"Of course, but we need to talk."
"Jefferson, whatever it is, I trust you to handle it." I said starting to walk away, but again he stopped me towering over me once again. I stood quietly waiting for him to give me the big message that he told the whole castle about.
"You know all the attacks, well apparently soon there's gonna be another one." I just looked at him annoyed.
"Really I would have never guessed there's only been how many attacks lately?"
"There's more humans coming."
"Well this place has how many guards? I think we can handle whatever is coming to us."
"No."
"Excuse you?"
"We don't have the needed amount to survive whatever their planning." He stated looking a bit frightened. It was something that is never seen the arrogant man show, he was threatened.
"Well I guess then you need to tell London all of this and figure out what places need to be fixed. You know what? Just give me a damn map and show me how many guards are in which places and the recommend amount. Other than than that, get London on it. And make sure you inform Charles if he doesn't already know. Now if you'll excuse me I have a meeting to get to." and with that I walked away. If he said anything else, I didn't hear him. Not that I would have responded I have places I need to get to and a lot on my mind.
Charles was the head guard and was supposed to be on top of the security, apparently I'll have to take care of that too. Add it to the list.

"Alright it seems like we have a solid plan, if you have anything else you want to tell me then just pass it along through Jefferson." I told another one of my advisors about the budget. I just wanted to get the hell out of there to be honest. This guy was more annoying and boring than Jefferson. He should've been given an award is never met someone more talented than Jefferson in that field.
All of my advisors, including Jefferson left right behind me.
I headed down to the kitchen where I thought Mona might be. There she was with London probably discussing something about the hours. London had been telling me that the servants would like to have a specific job and have reasonable hours.
"Mona, if you don't mind can you one of my servants to tune my instruments." I asked her politely respecting her more than I did most people. She show cased loyalty and honesty, which I valued the most.
"Of course, Jenna tune the queens instruments!" Mona yelled across the room into the dinning room where Jenna, and another servant were setting the large table. Jenna walked off and tuned my instruments in about an half an hour.
During that time I was talking to Mona and London asking them how things were going down here. They were telling me about how the kitchen staff was ten times better than the last. London was telling us about her meeting with Jefferson and how awful it went.
After we finished talking I went into my music room where I had a piano, guitar, cello, violin, and viola. I preferred the piano, but I could play all five. I sat down and played a more peaceful tune. I didn't know where it came from, but the melody haunted me. In a good way, but it played over and over in my head.
As I was in the middle of playing and singing along with piano, there was a knock at the door. "What?" I said annoyed but startled.
"It's Jefferson," of corse its Jefferson, he's the only one who doesn't understand the concept of peace, " You need to get ready for Dermot's funeral."
"Thank you." I said in almost a hoarse whisper. The word funeral shouldn't of been in he same sentence with Dermot's name. Hearing his name now only brought a stabbing pain to my heart.
Dermot was my head guard. I'd known him since I'd become queen. He was honorable, loyal, trustworthy, everything a guard needed he had. With one of the attacks, while he was turned around, one of the people who were attacking slit his throat. He died right there on the spot. The guy who killed Dermot was Solomon Bartholomew. He was executed in the town square.
I don't know what I'm gonna do without Dermot. And this funeral is gonna have an effect on me. Most didn't. I didn't close I wish I didn't let Dermot or anybody else in. Life would be easier that way.
