We fell asleep after talking for a little bit. I told him about times with my grandma. He told me about times with his mom. Apparently he was a mamas boy, frankly, I wasn't surprised.
I woke up with the sun shining directly on my face. I was curled up in a ball and it felt like I was in on a cloud. I looked over at Oliver who was sprawled out across the bed. His legs where hanging off the bed, his hair was a total mess, and he was out, cold. It was quite funny.
I got up quietly and walked into my bathroom to take a bath. I took a quick bath and blow dried my hair. Since it was all curly, I sprayed it with the detangle. I then put on a white dress that was cut off in the middle. I put on heels. My nails had a paisley design over a navy blue. I put on all of my products and walked out of the bathroom.
Oliver was still asleep and I didn't feel like waking him up. So I walked I buzzed for Mona. She came in with eggs and toast. She looked at Oliver with a smirk and then she turned her head to me.
"I see you guys have gotten friendlier." Mona said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes at her comment.
"Whatever, anyway, just leave the tray here for him please. I'm gonna go see London and talk to her." I said walking out the door with out stopping.
I walked down the hall through the main stair case all the way to London's office. When I got in she was typing on her computer. She looked up at me with this curios look.
"I need to talk to you." I said lowly with my head down as I walked over to the blue chair in front of her desk.
She looked at me scared. She seemed speech less. She crocked out " This is the first time in 700 years you've wanted to talk to me. If you don't mind me asking, um, what about?"
"Oliver." I said simply still hanging my head low.
"What about him? Oh god, did he piss you off?" She said bouncing back in her chair. I could tell she was exhausted. She rubbed her eyes and started writing on her calendar that laid on her desk.
"Sadly, no." I mumbled.
She looked at leaning on over her desk with a confused expression. she started at me for a few seconds "What do you mean?" She asked quietly.
"We are getting along fine. Not mention he slept in my bed last night." I said obviously a bit too loud because a walking by Jefferson walked into the office shutting the door who now is irrupted with questions.
"Oh dear Jesus, please tell me that nothing happened. We cannot afford a scandal. Please-" Jefferson panicked closing the door behind him. After all of his pleading that it wasn't true, I interrupted him.
"No Jefferson. Nothing happened. We've been getting along as friends, nothing more." I said looking up at him annoyed.
Jefferson and London were totally baffled by this situation. It really wasn't though. But in their mind it kinda was because not a lot of people liked me anyhow. It was silent for a few minutes.
I looked at London with this pleading look. I was totally lost at this point. London looked at Jefferson and changed the subject asking "Where were you off to Jefferson. Our business is done in here so if you don't mind-"
He cut her off quickly stating "I was on my way over here. I needed to talk to you about the banquet." He was going to go on but London's eyes went wide while mine went narrow while I tilted my head to side.
"What banquet?" I asked looking over London who was aggravated with Jefferson. She was giving him the death glare.
"We are hosting a banquet to honor Dermot. I hope you don't mind." London said in a fake cheery tone. She was trying her best to maintain a smile, but I could see right through it. And frankly, I was amused.
"No, I don't mind at all, but don't expect me to come." I said simply looking her in the eye.
She threw her hands in the air leaning back in her chair rubbing her eyes. "Come on Raven the please." Jefferson stood in corner next to London. His arms were crossed and he was really annoyed. Then again he never looked happy, He was rushed. He had a busy job and life.
"No, I'm sick of "celebrating" or "mourning" or what the fuck ever you want to call it over Dermot. I'm sick of being reminded that my best friend died." I raised my voice and got out of my chair walking over the door frame getting ready to leave.
She looked at me with this exhausted look. She wasn't in the mood for shit today. "Raven, number one, you are the queen, you need to go. Number two, he was a good friend, it would be disrespectful not to go. To me that's all the reason to go. Also if you don't go I'm going to be all alone and I'll have to talk to the guests."
"Well, have fun talking to the guests." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"Raven, your are an adult, I can't make you do anything, but Raven, your going." She claimed pointing her finger at me.
"No one needs me there. You can handle it on your own." I said looking at her.
"Actually there's going to be a guest there that is very important." Jefferson said reminding me that he was still here.
"And who would that be?" I said turning my attention to him while he had a smoldering look on his face.
"Her name is Adeline Bonnie Cane. She's very important. She says she can help us." Jefferson explained.
"What do we need help on? We've got this place under control." I said cockily.
"Have you forgotten how many people have died because of all these attacks. We need help. Obviously, we aren't doing something right." Jefferson stepped up trying to act like he was the ruler.
"Well, then fine Jefferson, bring in someone who thinks they should be queen. Because bringing in someone who doesn't know half the shit I do makes a whole lot of sense." I responded sarcastically.
"We'll never win with you." Jefferson said shaking his head in defeat.
"No, you never ever will." I said with a smirk playing on my face.
