I walked out of the room with Oliver following behind me quietly. Somehow I convinced him that I wasn't going to kill him, I just needed his help. We walked over to the hallway where all the guards slept. They were all out on duty so I wouldn't get any questions about why I was over here by them. And was even more careful because before I left I told the security team I was gonna be over here.
We continued to walk down the long hallway and when we got the final door on the right I typed in the code and walked into Dermot's room, well it used to be his room.
I was about to walk in, but of corse Oliver stopped me. He grabbed my wrist and when I looked back at him he had this what are you doing face. "Oliver, I'll explain when I find what I want." I jerked my wrist out of his hand and started looking around the room.
The room was pretty mu h empty. He had a kind size bed, a door that connected to the bathroom, a tv, a book shelf, and a desk.
His room was full but still much better than most of the guards. Most of shared a room with a connected bathroom with at least five guys.
I walked over to his desk and underneath were all these tapes with dates on them inside cardboard boxes.
I looked back on top of his desk and looked at his camera. I examined it and everything else surrounding it. Beside the plain wooden desk were other cardboard boxes stacked on top of each other as well. They were filled with journals and skimming through them it seemed like it carried all of his thoughts, ideas, basically the pages were his mind.
"What exactly are you looking for?" Oliver said snapping me out of my trance and nearly giving me a heart attack.
"Damn you Oliver. Just look around and try to find anything that has to do with Dermot." I commanded as I continued to look through the boxes.
"Everything in here has to do with Dermot." He said dumbly cause me to take a deep breath and let out a heavy but quiet sigh.
"Anything that has to do with him as in tapes that he might have had or his journals." I said softly, but almost deadly. I was on a mission and I wanted to get in and get out quick, but all Oliver ever seemed to do was bring me down.
He walked into his bathroom and was in there for about five minutes before he walked out with nothing. He proceeded to the bed were he lifted up the bed and picked up a journal Oliver skimmed it and stared at one page in particular.
I looked over at him and I just stared at him confused. He just stared at the page blankly. But it wasn't too long and a tear rolled down his cheek. He quickly wiped it away and closed the book with a loud slam. He sat on the bed with his face in his hands.
I watched him for a few second sand walked over to him sitting down next to him. I took the journal from him and flipped through the pages until I stopped and there on the page with the note in Dermot's hand writing written was Oliver, Your basically my son, but sometimes I wonder why you let yourself fade into the background. Your special, more than most in my opinion. I wish you'd tell me what your always thinking about. I know more about you than you think, I wish you'd trust me a little more. Your better than you think, just remember it wasn't your fault.
I looked back at Oliver who still frozen. I out the book back in his hands and he returned a questioning look. "You can read over it first, but this'll be the only time you get to do things before me." I stayed pointing my finger at him.
He smiled slightly looking at the journal. "If you don't mind me asking, I mean considering how many God damn questions you ask a day," I started earning a chuckle in return. "What did he mean, with all the stuff he said?"
Oliver looked at me and let in a shaky breath. "I ran away from home when I was fifteen, and let's just say I got into a bit of trouble, I did some things I'm not proud of." he said only barely above a whisper.
"Why'd you run away in the first place?"
"Long story." he said simply getting off the bed walking over to the desk grabbing a few tapes.
"What are you doing?" I asked quickly walking over to Oliver by the desk.
"I figured you might want to watch some of the tapes dated a few days before his death." He said with a lopsided smile.
I nodded and grabbed the tap from him playfully and walked out of the room. He shut off the lift and walked out following behind me.
