Oliver and I went to Jefferson's office to tell him what happened. I'm sure he already knew because in the castle gossip spreads like wildfire.
We walked all the way across the castle to Jefferson's office. I knocked on the door to be greeted by the man himself. He was wearing a grey suit with a lavender tie. He seemed a bit on edge and frustrated.
"What- oh it's just you, come in." He started off with a bitter tone, but once he saw it was me he calmed down and invited us in.
We sat down in the chairs in front of his wooden desk. His office was plain black and white.
He walked around the desk to sit at his chair. He sighed as he sat down. "So I heard, what's the plan?" He asked exhausted.
Oliver and I looked at each other with a sense that whatever we were going to say Jefferson wouldn't be happy.
"Well, we were going to send her to a remote area and keep her there until she's recovered." I started waiting for Jefferson to speak his mind. But instead he stared blankly waiting for me to go on. I continued nervously, "Oliver is going to go with her. I'll stay here and fill in for Raven."
"I don't agree." He said simply finally adding his opinion after thinking for a few seconds. Oliver started mumbling smack talk. "I think we should keep her here where we can watch over her." he debated leaning back in his chair folding his hands together.
"You know very well she wouldn't like that, memories or not." I explained on Ravens behalf.
"It doesn't much matter, if we send her to the remote area how will we know how she's doing?" He asked thinking I hadn't thought this through.
"I will visit her once a week to see what's going on, Plus this place does have service, we will get to talk to Oliver and see what's going on." I answered hoping he would shut up there, but I knew that was like wishing for a cat not to land on its feet.
"I still don't think she should go.She should still be queen. Yeah, she lost her memory, but she should be okay to do her job. What did the doctor say?"
I was appalled by his selfishness. He's always been this way since I knew him, but today I couldn't believe him. "He said that she could still be queen, but he wouldn't recommend it." I answered lowly knowing he would use that against me.
"Then she'll be fine." He said simply thinking everything was solved and he won the argument.
"Jefferson, she's not well. She needs to go to place where she can recover peacefully. We can't put her at risk." I explained trying to persuade the cold hearted bastard.
"We need to help her here. Plus if you send her with him, how will that help her? They barely know each other. If anyone should go, it should be you."
"I can't, I need to fill in for her. He believe it or not, is the best candidate to go. You know how manipulative and devious she can be, he won't fall for it." I defended Oliver while Oliver sat there trying to stay quiet.
"I could fill in. Plus you guys have been friends for about as long as she's been alive, you have memories together, they have zip. You could help her bring back memories." He continued to counter my side.
"Jefferson, shut the fuck up! I know he's better than you do for sure! She needs to go to this remote area where she can't be found. You know damn well that there will be another attack on her, she's weak, venerable, she needs to get away." Oliver jumped up from his seat yelling Jefferson, something he wasn't expecting.
"Listen kid, you've known her for what two weeks? I've known for a thousand, I know what's good for her." Jefferson tried to belittle Oliver, but Oliver wasn't going to take it.
"I can bet damn well I know her better than you. London's her best friend, she probably knows better than the two of us combined what's better for Raven. So shut up and do your job." Oliver ended up trying to belittle Jefferson.
Jefferson was appalled by Oliver's actions. "What's so important about this place that could help her? All of her memories are here."
"No, not the important ones. This place is where Raven turned into what she is now. This place has all of the memories she cherishes and the ones that haunt her. She's going there regardless of what you think Jefferson." I spoke softly walking out of his office with Oliver walking behind.
I needed Raven to get her memory back. This place is the best thing for her. I know that more than anything. my biggest fear was that if she did get her memories back would she hate me, or love me. And what if she doesn't, that's the start over she's dreamed of. I want that for her, but there are memories I'm afraid for her to lose...
