I hang up the phone as I looked around at the venue.  It was getting ready for tonight and I was proud of myself.  One, for not having a mental breakdown and two for pulling this off.  I took a deep breath before I was confronted by Mister Stephen.

"You did a good job Miles.  This looks amazing." Stephen's complacent.  I smiled at him with a head nod. 

"Thank you.  I must say that I am also proud of myself." I responded. 

"I'm surprised you aren't by my son since you didn't have to be here.  I think I can deal with it from here." I'm surprised myself but I have promised Logan I won't let work get in the way because of our relationship, samething goes for him. 

"Yeah, he and I made a deal that we won't-"

"-That you won't let work get in the way.  Me and my wife made that same promise and let me be honest with you, it really takes a troll on the relationship.  We haven't noticed that until 15 years of marriage." Mister Stephen looked away and took a deep breath.  "Logan is like me, he won't put anyone but himself first and now that you two are in a relationship, he will put you first."

"I'm sorry Mister Stephen but I'm sure he will also put the business f-"

"I sure hope he doesn't.  I hope that he puts you and his future first.  This isn't just about worrying about a deadline this is worrying about if you and Logan are in a fight or something you two can work with each other." 

I kept looking at Mister Stephen when he walked away.  I took a deep breath before I picked up my phone and called Logan.

Logan
Hey baby, how's it going?
Miles
Good, I just sent out the last of the invites and moved the band.
Logan
Sounds fun.
Miles
Yeah...I also just got the talk from your father.
Logan
Oh really?  I'm guessing he was telling you the samething he told me. 
Miles

hat did he tell you?
Logan
Just things I was already planning to do.  Make sure that we can still work together.
Miles
Do you think I was going to stay your assistant forever?

I wasn't meaning to sound like a bitch but ai find it funny how Logan throught I would just take orders from him everyday for the rest of my life. 

Logan
I throught you would stay awhile.  Maybe not as my assistant but maybe a co-partner because that what's happened to Cassy when we got married.
Miles
Marriage!? Logan, is now a bad time to express to you that I am scared of the future.  I don't want to start making plans like marriage until years down the road.
Logan
I think we should tal-

I felt my phone buzzing so I pulled it way from my ear and it was Austin.  On his company number of course.  At least me can keep that boundary. 

Miles
I need to go.  Someone is calling for the party.
Logan
Ok, are you coming to see me?
Miles
I don't know...I-I got to go...

I hang up as I picked up Austin.  I took a deep breath before putting it to my ear.

Austin
I was thinking you won't pick up.
Miles
I am expanding this will be business only from the number.
Austin
Well, you didn't forget this number.
Miles
I had to call you dad millions of times because you decided to take-
Austin
That is actually what I want to talk about.  I was thinking you could come to my office and we can talk.  Like adults.

Adults?  Being the adult to him was walking away so why the hell is he wanting to talk like adults.

Austin
Come on, now that Logan's up I know he got to tie to him.  Nothing needs to happen.
Miles
Why do you want to talk now?
Austin
I throught I had a chance but now Logan is back in the picture...I don't.
Miles
So this is all Because of Logan?
Austin
Logan is a very powerful man, if I'm not nice to his Assistant, he will have no problem to kick me off.
Miles
You're right.
Austin
So let me make it up to you.  Tell you why I was such a dick.  I know you want to know my side of the story.
Miles
I don't think that is such a good idea.
Austin
For business.  I know you are caring about this business way more now.
Miles
You really don't know that.
Austin
Than why did you stay when Logan was in that coma?

I pause.  I really don't have anymore excuses.  I took a deep breath and nodded my head.

Miles
Fine, I will be there in an hour
Austin
Amazing, I will let the front desk know.
