Trapped (Full Story)

Chapter 27

"Alright, y/n, what do you think?" Nick finally asks me. 

"W-well," I say, trying to find the right words. "I do love running, I really do. But, I just can't risk running into another griever or losing another friend... I need time to get over the fact that I might not ever see my friends again. So if anything, I'd want to be a med-jack. But put me wherever you think I'd be useful." I say. 

Everyone nods and then Nick passes around the clipboard. 

In the end, I became a med-jack. 

"Alright, everyone else can leave." Nick says, making me begin to stand up. "Except Alby, Newt, and y/n." Shuck. I gulp and sit back in my chair. 

Once everyone was out, Nick started talking. "Newt, I'm sure you've guessed that being here to vouch for y/n isn't the only reason you're here, right?" Newt nods his head. "Well me and Alby have agreed that y/n will stay In your room since you have an extra bed, we know you won't try anything, and so she can help you If you need anything. Good that?" Nick asks. 

Both mine and Newt's faces are tomato red as we both nod our heads. 

"Great! Gathering dismissed!" Nick says, getting up and walking out the door. Alby smirks at us before leaving. 

I look over at Newt, his face still a little pink. "Well, Hey roomie," I say, trying my best to break the awkwardness. Newt laughs a little and replies: "and a bloody hello to you too roomie," we both laugh and then get up to go to bed. 

"Do you need to get anything?" Newt asks. 

"I'll just grab it In the morning." I shrug. Newt nods and continues showing me where his room was. He opened the door for me and I shyly walk in, him limping behind me. "Well make yourself comfortable roomie," Newt shrugs. 

I smile and put my hair up in a bun before laying down on the soft cot. "Night Newt," I yawn. "Get me if you need anything." 

That's when I slipped into darkness.
