Trapped (Full Story)

Chapter 13

"Nick! I told you I'd explain later!" Alby yells at the boy.

Nick?

"'That's Nick.' Chuck said. 'He picks his nose.'" I remember from the Fever Code when we were first introduced.

"I can walk myself!" I say, yanking my arm from his grip. Nick turns to me and... smiles. "Hm. Feisty. I like It," he says. I take a step back as I eye him suspiciously.

"Look Nick, I'll tell you what was said later alright?" Alby says before I stop him. "No. I'll tell him myself right now." I never let my eyes leave Nick, who had wavy brown hair, olive skin, and grey eyes.

Nick looks at me with curiosity. "I came from a different maze, alright? I got trapped in it overnight with my best friend. And what happens next? Next thing I know is that I get trapped in another maze with a bunch of stupid boys who didn't even realize I've been here for two months already!" Nick stares in wonder and I take advantage of his silence.

"Now if you don't want me to have to prove my point, I made a deal with Alby here that since I told him my story, I get to go to all your gatherings and have a say. You all need some kind of help or another." I once again look Nick up and down in disgust as I see his greasy clothes.

Nick turns to Alby and shouts: "Seriously?! We can't have a girl comin to our gatherings!"

"That was her condition Nick! Didn't you want answers?!" Alby yells back. Nick glares at him before nodding his head toward the gathering hall. Alby follows him, telling me to follow as well.

Shuck. What have I done? I think as I follow them.

They make me sit outside as they discuss all this. Bark comes trotting up to me and I smile. "Hi buddy, where have you been?" I coo as I scratch his ear.

Bark only sits down and let's me pet him as we sit there.

Guys kept looking over at me, some bold enough to catcall and whistle. I ignore them, giving my attention to Bark.

Hours later and they come back out. I stand up and wait for the news.
