Chapter 33

"You know, this was really fun," Philip smiles after I make a stupidly funny joke. 

"Ya! I agree!" I smile. 

"Would you maybe want to do it again?" He asks. I eagerly nod my head: "Of course!" 

Philip's face lights up once again and he quickly swoops a light peck on my cheek. My face flushed up and Philip gives me a playful grin before walking back to work. I let a small smile play onto my lips as my hand goes to my cheek, lightly touching the spot he kissed. 

I kept It there as I got back up and walked back over to find Newt and Alby sitting on the table. "What's got you all jacked?" Alby asks as I come over. 

"Huh? Wha? Oh, nothing." I say, sitting down. 

But I just couldn't seem to wipe the smile off my face. Soon Newt and Alby finish eating and I walk with Newt to the medhut to try some stretches. 

"When do I get off the crutches?" He asks me. "Well you've already been on the crutches for about 2 weeks, so 8 more." I say. 

He nods his head before sitting down. "Can I just go to sleep? I have a buggin headache that's killing me," Newt mumbles. 

I can immediately tell something's off. "Ya? And may I ask who the 'headache" is?" I ask, sitting next to him. 

Newt's fists clenched onto the cot before muttering a name under his breath. 

"What?" I ask, confused. 

"Philip! Alright? Philip!" Newt shouts, startling me. When Newt sees my confused expression, he puts his face in his hands and says: "look y/n, ever since you patched up my leg and I got to know you, I feel like you're the best person I've ever met! You've helped me so much and I want to help you in return!" 

"Newt, you don't have to do anything for me!" I protest. 

"Ya I do, y/n." Newt says, looking at me. "Ever since I first woke up after you fixed my leg, I considered you my friend! And ever since I found out you pulled the s'more thing off to make me happy, I think of you more as my best friend! And I don't want my best friend getting hurt!"
