Trapped (Full Story)

Chapter 24

The morning of the third day, Alby came and released me.

I did my best to get out, my body stiff and cold. I thank Alby and then ignore the stiffness as I run to the medhut, bursting into Newt's room to find him wide awake.

"Y/n! Are you ok? You look dreadful!" Newt says when he sees me. I sit down on the stool and nod, my body still shaking.

"Y-ya. Just c-cold." I shiver. Newt frowns and then takes his blanket and throws it over me. I smile and adjust it over me. "Thanks Newt," he smiles and does his best to sit up.

"So, you stole food from Fry?"  He asks me. I sheepishly nod my head and say: "And kinda hurt a glader If you count me flipping over some dude when Alby first tried to catch me."

Newt smiles and says: "Ya, the shank told me about that. And about how he convinced you to come to the Glade," he raises his eyebrows at me and I shrug.

"What? Sorry I didn't want to come out to a Glade full of boys I've never met before?" I smirk, making Newt chuckle.

"So when do you think I can start walking?" He asks.

I sigh and reply: "Probably best to stay in bed for at least a month. So in three more weeks or so, we'll get you walking on crutches," I say, forcing a smile. Newt nods his head sadly.

I frown and place a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, I promise you will walk again. Got it?" He nods his head and gives me a small smile, to which I return with a warm one.

"Did you get food?" Newt asks me. I shake my head and pull the blanket closer to me.

"No, came straight here." I say, Newt nodding in response.

"Go get some food and do whatever else you need. I'll stay here." I slowly hand him back the blanket.

"Are you sure I can leave you here alone? Last time I did I nearly lost you," I say.

Newt nods and replies: "Trust me. I'll stay right here, safe and sound." I eye him suspiciously as I stand up.

"Please don't try anything! Just call for Jeff or Clint If you need anything," "Ok. I promise." He says, giving me enough satisfaction to go do my stuff.
