Trapped (Full Story)

Chapter 15

"Perfect! Jeff, try to see if we have a leg brace and then rush back here." I thank the Gladers. "Thank you Gally, and whoever you are." I say as I take the supplies from Gally and the other Glader who nod with shocked looks before walking out. 

"Alright, Clint, do we have any pain killers?" I ask. He nods his head and grabs something from his messenger bag. I take the syringe and rush over to Newt who was clutching his leg in pain. 

"Hey Newt, hey," I say softly, bending down. He looks at me with tears in his eyes. "I know this hurts alright, but just let go and I promise everything will be ok, alright?" I ask. He slowly releases his grip and calms down, his eyes transfixed on me. I smile warmly and reply: "That's perfect Newt, keep breathing, alright?" I then turn to his leg and know exactly where to put the needle. 

Once I stick it in him and press in the painkillers, Newt relaxes a little more and I smile. 

"Perfect! That's It Newt, just relax, you'll be all better when you wake up." Tears still fall from his eyes as he lays back. He follows me as I turn back to Clint. 

"You know what we have to do?" I ask, my voice harder. He nods his head and we go to Newt's leg. I turn to Newt and whisper: "Look, this is gonna hurt like crazy, alright? Just hang In there and I promise it will go away." He weakly nods his head and I nod to Clint as Jeff walks in with a brace. 

"Grab some bandages, a small splint, and an ice pack Jeff. And Clint, on three." Clint nods his head and I count out loud. 

Right on three, we snap the first break In Newt's leg together. He lets out a pained scream before going unconscious. 

Jeff rushes over and I press the pack and splint to the fracture as Jeff puts the bandage on it. 

"Great, two more times." I say. 

Once we were done, I put an ice pack on Newt's ankle when I notice it's fractured. We put the long splint on his leg before putting the brace on. 

Now to wait for him to wake up.
