Equus POV:
I was losing terribly. Ever since Fall ended, I'd been unable to get a single scratch on Thesis. Basically, after Thesis forcibly made me watch what happened five years ago, I went on a rampage. Turning into one of my larger forms, the dragon one I got on the last job Kyon, and I went on. I managed to surprise Thesis and break a few bones. But when I went in for the kill, he stood up, saying that the reality of the situation was that he wasn't hurt or something like that.
I think there's a loophole he's using, but it's not like I could do much. So far, every time I've gotten a lucky hit, he merely heals himself and hammers attacks that much harder. Thankfully I don't seem to be tired; someone must be taking care of my physical body.
Anyway, I was getting beat-up. I was now in my Spring season, so I could focus on how I would take down the primordial. But I wasn't getting much inspiration or ideas on how to do that. I think I should get a little bit of slack since it's not like he had an element I could take advantage of, like Gaea.
He was literally Reality. He could make anything look real or change the 'reality of the situation.' I'm pretty sure he was cheating by making himself stronger or something. Like those gamers who cheat in all the best stats at level 1, they are overpowered until they finish the game. But then again, it may seem like he's getting stronger since I'm feeling more and more exhausted as the fight drags on.
I parried another sword strike, feeling my arms shake from the shock of the blow. I pushed back, counterattacking as I slashed at Thesis's head. The primordial merely blocked my attack and made a surprise attack on my stomach, causing a deep gash and cutting through my stitched up stomach wound. I sucked in a breath, not willing to give the primordial the satisfaction of my cry of pain.
I pushed my body harder, adrenaline blocking out the pain from my stomach as I whirled at him. I tried a left-side horizontal slash and quickly retreated my sword, feinting for a right-side vertical incision. Thesis saw through my fake and blocked the vertical cut easily. I jumped back and rolled away after another flurry of blows got me a cut across my right arm, opening the gashes from when I was at camp during my Fall season.
Figuring I should probably use my mind while I still have it, I began to focus, creating water into my mind, swirling it around the Reality primordial. I individually produced the particles, so Thesis would need to focus on each one to make the water disappear. I imagined more and more, making a vortex of water surround him. Not wanting to risk the water's injuring capabilities, I kept a safe distance from my conjured water, though it went against every instinct to not feel the water.
"You can't possibly think this will defeat me," Thesis shouted over the raging water. I laughed; no, I didn't think this would defeat him, but the next phase of the plan would.
The water vanished, and I stumbled a bit, surprised he got rid of all the particles so quickly but quickly regained my composure. I held my right hand out and tried to grasp the water particles on Thesis's body. I faltered a bit as my mind grasped nothing. The usual sense of water didn't reach me. I couldn't find the water on Thesis's body. But I knew it was there. I could see the primordial soaking wet, standing there, right in front of me. I was starting to get frustrated when a sinking feeling developed in my gut; Thesis wouldn't take that away too, would he?
"Well, that's the second thing I've taken from you, the healing ability of water and your ability to control it. What do you have now, Son of Poseidon?" Thesis mocked as I felt a steel hand clutch my heart. I ignored the jab and searched frantically for any liquid in the vicinity. My breath caught as I couldn't feel the water in the air, the water on the floor, or the water on Thesis's body. Its presence has left me.
