Equus POV:

I woke up groggy like I had been hit by a train and then was slowly but surely being pushed through a box smasher.

Ok, so maybe not groggy.

I woke up sore and in pain. That's more accurate. It hurt to move, to breathe, to exist in general. I groaned and stared at the ceiling. Wait, wasn't it Summer? Why wasn't I all dazed and out of it?

I sat up abruptly, then instantly regretted it, my head pounding. I whimpered and felt a small weight on my thigh. I looked down quickly, heart racing but relaxed when I saw a familiar wolf.

"Mornin Kyon. Sleep well?" I asked, and he nodded. I scoffed internally. Yea, sure he slept. I totally believe that.

Then why even ask the question?

To keep suspicion off, obviously.

I froze, eyes widening. What the fuck? I don't usually talk to myself when I'm in Summer, do I? Well, this season is acting a bit sketchy, so I'm not entirely sure what's going to happen. But still, talking to myself? That's a whole new level.

Chill out; it's just me.

Oh sure, Just Me, and just who is that? Am I supposed to know the names of everything in my head? Ok, except the primordials, I know those guys, but they can't talk to me like this. Unless that's the reason I'm not feeling very Summery right now.

Nope, it's just me. Also, I asked Ouranos to lay off just for today and let Pontos have an extra day so that you could understand what was going on. But I had to forfeit Pontos' next turn so, sorry about that.

I closed my eyes and ignored the head tilt Kyon was giving me. I couldn't even answer the question he was asking.

I don't think you're ever going to get it. It's me, Chaos, primordial of the void, creator? Ring any bells?"

I sat there, stunned. What the actual fuck was Chaos doing in my head?

This is my attribute, for the whole pact thingamajig. You know, that thing I did to help you beat Thesis?

I groaned. Now I have to deal with the primordial who I've been ghosting for fiveish years, living in my head. Wait, where's their real body? Can't they just blip out or something?

Unfortunately, that is not possible. Since I forced the pact, I no longer have a physical body. Congrats! You are now the only thing keeping me from fading!

I groaned out loud and opened my eyes. Gods, this was a disaster. First, I have a weekish long battle with the Primordial of Reality. Then when I think that everything is going great because I got overpowered backup, I get stuck with the backup for all of eternity. I looked down at Kyon, who had crawled up onto the bed and laid down next to me, his head in my lap.

I stroked the fur between his eyes with my index finger as I contemplated what to do. Well, I guess there's not much to do. All I can do is accept it I guess.

Oh, just an FYI, I can possess your body. But it's only when you lose consciousness or fall asleep. Don't worry; I won't do anything bad, promise. Also, when I possess you, your eyes change color, so there's a difference between who's in control.

I nod internally. Honestly, I could care less as long as the primordial doesn't decide to do anything stupid or get me into trouble. I looked down at Kyon, who had his eyes closed.

"Kyon? You asleep?" I whispered, and his eyes snapped open. Nope, not asleep.

"I know you stayed up all night. Go to bed." He growled at me, and I took it as an "I did sleep."
