Equus POV:

I strolled, head hanging low. I wanted to see my mom in my Spring season, but that was the day I was leaving. I looked up, seeing where I was—the beach.

After the Thesis battle, water came right back to me. I almost cried with joy as I stood there, feeling the salty humidity cling to me as if hugging me. I felt the ocean seemingly apologize to me for what had happened. I took off my shoes and walked to the water. It lapped at my toes, and I felt a sense of love fill me.

I sat down in the waves, feeling them crash into me. I closed my eyes, feeling at peace with my oldest friend. The water covered me entirely and then receded. The waves were calming, constantly overwhelming my body only to return to the great expanse of itself. After a few minutes, I opened my eyes and stood up.

Grinning, I ran through the waves, diving into the embrace of the ocean. Breathing deeply, I felt the water around relaxing me. I swam, being greeted by all kinds of sea life. A familiar hippocampus came up to me, and I smiled wider; Rainbow.

"How's Tyson?" I asked. Rainbow merely slid up beside me, and I took the invitation and climbed on his back. Rainbow shot off through the sea, and I felt the exhilaration of being in my element. I laughed out loud as the hippocampus made a few loops.

The sea rushed past me until a large castle appeared in front of us. I smiled sadly. I hadn't seen Dad in a while either. Rainbow shook his mane, and I slid off.

"Thanks Rainbow" he neighed at me and swam off. I wasn't sure why he wasn't talking to me, but I shrugged it off. I swam towards the guards, and they opened the gates.

I frowned, usually, they would ask for identification, but I guess they could see I was breathing underwater. I shrugged again and swam through the gates. Merpeople swam around and greeted me. Some were sparring, others laughing. I smiled at the carefreeness of the courtyard inhabitants and entered the castle.

Walking through the pale blue colored castle, I walked through the corridors. I decided to visit Dad first; he would be able to help me get to Tyson.

I followed the hallways, feeling the pulse of power coming from the center of the castle. I followed the presence until I was in front of the throne room. The guards smiled; I was surprised but waved at them. Everyone was being really friendly. Usually, castles were all stiff and stabby-stabby.

They sent a guard in but soon opened the double doors. I beamed and swam into the room. The doors shut behind me, and I saw my Dad sitting on his throne. He was wearing his usual tropical button-up, cargo shorts, and sandals. His trident sat in a stand next to him, easily accessible. His sea-green eyes twinkled when he saw me. A broad smile filling his face.

"Percy! Welcome home son. Why do you wear a mask?" Dad welcomed, practically glowing at me. I slid the mask to the right, keeping it on, just showing my face.

"Hey Dad, it's so people don't recognize me. I've got tons of incognito and assassination jobs so" I shrugged, talking casually with Poseidon as if I hadn't been away for five years.

"Wait, assassination jobs? You aren't hurt, right?" Dad got off his throne and shrunk down to a standard human height. Then he checked me over while I chuckled.

"No, I'm fine. It's good to see you. Five years is a long time," I smiled, and Dad enveloped me in a bone-crushing hug.

"It's been too long. Which brings me to my next question, are you ok now? Or is it simply Spring time?" Dad raised an eyebrow, and I ended the hug, standing in front of him.

"Well, I've accepted most of what happened. I'm still sad but not nearly as depressed as before. I think Chaos is assisting in that department, though. Right now, I'm actually in my Fall season." I said simply, and Dad nodded.
