Equus POV:
Did I say peaceful? I meant hectic.
So lovely to see you again, Perseus, or Equus. Honestly, I don't care. Chaos told me to play nice, so I won't be mean. I mean, that's literally what he told me not to do. Don't worry. Even though dreams are my attribute in this pact, I won't show you your hurtful memories or torture you. Though I would thoroughly enjoy that.
Since I'm super nice and actually care about this whole pact thing, I'll start us off with a pleasant memory, one you love I'm sure.
The darkness turned light, and I was watching a scene play out. My breath caught in my throat as I saw the chocolate brown hair thrown into a ponytail, the Sweet on America uniform underneath the turquoise apron. The kind blue eyes that always seemed to be filled with love and support. Mom.
She was walking around the kitchen, hustling around getting breakfast ready, when a kid, me to be exact, walked in. He was in a Nemo onesie and had the hood up. Seven-year-old me rubbed his eyes and yawned.
"Morning Blue, Happy Birthday," Mom sang as she swooped over and lifted him off the ground. Past me giggled as she placed him in a chair. Then Mom brought over a plate of blue pancakes and set it in front of Past me. I watched as Mom brought over her own plate and sat down; they both dug in.
My eyes pricked with tears as I watched. I couldn't remember the last time I saw mom.
The scene fast forwards a bit, and the clock reads 3 pm. I watched as Past me and Mom worked in the kitchen. Past me was working with a bowl with flour and other ingredients surrounding the bowl as he mixed. Mom was at another bowl with the liquids, whisking the ingredients together.
I chuckled as Past me tried to sneakily add more sugar to the mix but ended up getting caught in the act. Sheepishly he placed the bag of sugar back on the counter and continued mixing.
"Alright Percy, that looks good. Get the food coloring," Mom ordered, and then she took her whisked bowl of ingredients and poured them into the bowl Past me was mixing. Past me came back with a small container of blue food coloring as Mom mixed.
"Alright, go ahead," and Past me unscrewed the top of the container and added a few drops of food coloring, turning the dough blue. He screwed back on the top and watched as Mom mixed it all together. She mumbled something under her breath before turning and walking towards the stove.
Past me had a troublemaker smile on as he unscrewed the cap on the blue food coloring and quickly tapped a few more drops in. He hastily fumbled the top back on and placed it on the counter, acting as if nothing happened.
Mom came back over and sighed when she saw the added food coloring. Grinning brightly, she mixed everything again and then helped Past me roll cookies.
Sometime throughout the rolling process, Past me managed to get dough on his nose while Mom had dough on her cheek. They were laughing and joking around as they placed the cookies in the oven. Smiles never leaving their faces.
I smiled at the memory as the scene faded away.
There you go, a completely nice, heartwarming dream. Honestly, don't get used to it. This was a house warming gift. From now on, it'll be England if t-rexes were monarchs. Religions if potatoes were worshipped as gods. Praying mantis boxing rings. You name it, you'll dream it. For now, though, see you tonight.
I snapped my eyes open and saw Kyon awake, watching me with his head still on my chest. I rubbed his head and ears.
"Hey Doggo, how long have you been up?" I got a single bark, probably not very long then.
