President's Hero School Officially Launches

Tuesday marked the first public showing of US President Barrowman's 'Chiron Academy' program. A press conference was held at 9:00 am near the Academy's Colorado location to showcase the new organization. The teens marked the occasion by assisting local police by apprehending a local criminal.

The program is a piece of the president's response to the tragic death of teen vigilante, Clive Smith. which gathered teenage superheroes from across the nation to be trained together. This is the first time that details about the program have been released to the public since it's initial announcement almost two months ago.

"President Desperate For Success With Super School"

Weekly Column by Walt Doerchester

In a world where President Barrowman's promised tax brakes continue to languish in the Senate, where even members of his own party have spoken openly against the President, even he must realize that things do not look good for his reelection chances going into next year.

Meanwhile, the next section of Barrowman's promised solution to the rise of teenage viglanteism has finally decided to rear its head. After soundly outlawing all teen heroes back in early January, not a peep has come from Washington as to how the promised "Academy for Heroes" would roll out or any details about what the program would actually be run.

It's obvious that Barrowman needs a win of some kind to rekindle public support for his administration. But will it come from Chiron Academy?

"We are raising the next generation of heroes here," program head and long time ally of the President, Daniel Buckingham at Tuesday's press conference. "The president is aware of the struggle these kids go through. They have an abundance of desire to improve their communities but lack adequate avenues to acquire the training to do so."

Hopefully, the President is equally aware of his increasingly low approval rating as he is of the young vigilantes of America.

So the President offers the American public a peace offering to stop it from eating away at his poll numbers. But is America listening?

Polls seem to indicate that most Americans are in favor of the school for teen heroes and this may be able to pull Barrowman's approval back out of the dog house. Though whether it will serve as a return to grace or a temporary reprieve remains to be seen.

US Allies to Support USA's New Hero Program

Upon press release about the Chiron Academy program, several of the US's NATO allies have voiced their support for the country's new superhero school.

England and Canada's prime ministers have both publicly sent well wishes to Pres. Barrowman for the program's success.

Israel has already publicly committed to send some of their own heroes to attend the school as a sign of solidarity. However, this has been met with some backlash from the international community as Israel's largely state sponsored superheroes have been used increasingly often used in disputes between Israel and its neighbor, Palestine.

Beyond it's closest allies, reactions have been mixed. The European Union, which opted to ban all vigilante activity several years ago, has been critical of the move. Russia's Vladimir Putin has expressed dismissive opinions about the program, calling it 'standard American grandstanding' while the Peoples' Republic of China has expressed its desire to begin a similar program of its own within the next year.
