After hours and hours of walking, night had fallen over the town of Hawkins when El had finally brought the four remaining Party members to a stop outside the Byers' home."Here," El stated confidently.
Ally cocked her head to the side. Why had El brought them here of all places? They were supposed to be looking for Will. As the cogs turned in Ally's brain, she started to mull over what El was telling them.
That day in Castle Byers, she'd felt Will's presence there, even when he wasn't actually with her. She'd managed to talk to him for the briefest of moments. Maybe that was similar to what El was saying? Maybe Will really had been there just not... there there. It was like El had shown them with the D&D board. Maybe Will was on the other side of the board? Honestly, Ally didn't really know how to explain it, it was a difficult idea to make sense of but Ally was trying her best to come up with some reason as to why on Earth El had brought them there.
"Yeah... this is where Will lives," Mike told El with a hint of confusion.
"Hiding," El replied.
"No, no. This is where Will lives. He's missing from here. Understand?" Mike explained to her.
Lucas and Dustin dropped their bikes, panting heavily as they made their way over to Ally, standing on either side of her.
"What are we doing here?" Lucas asked in annoyance.
"She said he's hiding here," Mike filled them in.
"Um... no!" Lucas exclaimed in a "duh" tone of voice.
"I swear if we walked all the way out here for nothing-"
As Dustin complained and the others descended into an argument, Ally stepped away from the group, taking a few steps towards the Byers' House before closing her eyes and inhaling deeply. The girl tried to clear her head and focus on using her powers to try and see if she could feel that same familiar presence that she'd felt last night at Castle Byers.
The voices of her friends drifted away as Ally stood there in her own little world. Seconds ticked by before Ally felt it. The sudden revelation making her eyes fly open as she gasped. A single drop of blood dropped from her nose and she stumbled backwards right into Dustin, who caught her.
"What other choice do we ha-" Lucas was cut off as he watched Ally fall straight into Dustin.
"Whoa! Ally!" Lucas yelped, moving to Ally's other side to help take some of her weight off Dustin.
The boys all noticed the drop of blood on her upper lip and exchanged knowing looks.
"What happened, Ally?" Dustin asked.
