"Hello?"

Amidst an endless void of darkness, a young girl stood. With prominent veins of red and blue forking across her freckled skin, her brilliant blue eyes now shrouded by clumps of red and her face and lips stained with her own blood, she called out into the void.

"El?! Are you here?"

On trembling legs she stumbled through the darkness, searching for the reason why she was there, desperate to find any other signs of life.

"Seven."

A cold, croaky voice made her freeze, eyes growing wide and face paling even more than one would think possible.

"No," she whispered, her eyes filling with tears.

She turned slowly, following the sound of the voice.

"It can't be," her voice trembled and when she laid her eyes upon her worst nightmare, she silently wept.

"You've done well, child," Papa said to her, his leathery face as stone cold and clinical as ever, "But you could've been so much more."

"You're not real," she muttered, "I saw you die!"

The white-haired man smirked.

"Did you, Seven?" He taunted, stepping closer, his tone growing sterner, "Or were you, once again, blinded by some ridiculous need to try and protect those around you just to feed this ridiculous hero complex of yours?"

Ally stepped back, her body turning slightly, shoulders hunching forward as she was struck by a sudden desire to curl into herself and disappear.

"I-I don't know what y- wha- what you're tal-talking about," she stuttered, before straightening up and trying to fight back, "And wanting to protect my friends is not ridiculous," she snapped back, giving him a cold glare.

The man chuckled icily.

"Oh, really?" He challenged, "Because, from where I'm standing, your so-called friends are only in this mess because of you. If you hadn't run away like the coward you are, they would never have met you and they would never have been put in this sort of danger whatsoever."

"No," she whispered, trembling as tears leaked from her eyes, refusing to believe his harsh words.

"Yes, Seven. You are the one who put them in harms way."

"That's not true!"

"You and your sister are the ones that opened the gate in the first place and let the monster out."
