Comfortably secured on Steve's back as he trudged through the woods alongside Lucas, Dustin and Max, Ally took a bite of the Three Musketeers candy bar that Dustin had so graciously offered her to help recharge.

"You're positive that was Dart?" Lucas asked.

"Yes. He had the same exact yellow pattern on his butt," Dustin answered confidently.

"The exact same one," Ally answered, her words slurring slightly from exhaustion and her eyes forced shut from the way her cheek rested, smooshed against Steve's back.

Night had fallen over the town of Hawkins and while the rest of the town's residents were getting home and settling in for the night, the party - alongside Steve Harrington and Max Mayfield - were on the prowl for danger.

"He was tiny two days ago," Max recalled, still in disbelief over what she'd witnessed.

"Well, he's molted three times already," Dustin informed, snappily, making Ally frown and nudge his arm with the toe of the black docs she'd been gifted earlier that day.

"Malted?" Steve repeated cluelessly.

"Molted," Dustin and Ally corrected.

"Shed his skin to make room for growth— like hornworms," Dustin explained to the older, less academically inclined boy.

"Well, when's he gonna molt again?" Max questioned.

"It's gotta be soon," Dustin assumed, "And when he does, he'll be fully grown, or close to it... And so will his friends,"

Steve scoffed, readjusting Ally on his back, making the girl stir, slowly easing her out of her half-asleep state.

"Yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more than just cats," Steve remarked.

Ally perked up curiously, her body shooting upright so fast that Steve nearly dropped her.

"What?" Ally questioned, suddenly alert, "What cat?"

Dustin, knowing that Ally adored his cat almost as much as his mother did, gulped and stopped walking as the girl hopped off her brother's back and into the space in front of him, right beside Lucas.

"Wait, a cat?" Lucas exclaimed, stopping the curly-haired boy, "Dart ate a cat?"

"No, what? No," Dustin quickly denied.

Dustin really was a terrible liar, Ally noted, picking up on the defensiveness and nervousness in his voice. She and Lucas exchanged identical knowing and fed up looks.

"What are you talking about?" Steve asked confused, "He ate Mews,"

Ally's eyes widened with horror.

"HE ATE MEWS?!" Ally cried, her voice cracking slightly with distress.
