Ally woke with a start, a scream dying on her lips and she jolted upright. Her breathing was shallow and her eyes were wide and alert, as though they had already been on the prowl for danger even before she awoke.

"Stop the car!" She ordered instantly, not giving anyone the chance to think twice before Mick slammed her foot down onto the breaks.

Ally pulled the door open with her mind before tumbling out of the van in a disoriented haze. Her heart was firing and her stomach churned with nausea that she forced back down her throat.

Ally gasped, sucking into her lungs as much air as she possibly could and yet still feeling like there wasn't enough. Ally kneeled on the cold, hard concrete, bent over with her hands on her knees as she struggled to breathe.

"Ally!" She heard El exclaim worriedly.

"Everything alright?" Mick yelled.

Sensing that Ally wasn't in the condition to explain herself, Kali spoke for her.

"Everything's fine. I think it's about time for a bathroom break anyway," She suggested, earning a few grunts and remarks of approval.

The gang went off with El to go find a nearby bathroom they could use while Kali stayed with Ally on the side of the road. Once the younger girl had regained her composure, the two sat side-by-side on the pavement.

"What's going on, Ally? What did you see?" Kali asked her after a while, knowing that Ally hadn't just acted up for nothing.

Ally inhaled deeply, her eyes glued to the vast expanse of blue that stretched out above them. It was getting late, now. The bright blue of the sky slowly darkening and blending into a light purpley-blue colour.

Ally didn't know what to say or how to start. How was she meant to tell someone that she had to leave them behind? How was Ally supposed to tell her sister that she wasn't the person she wanted her to be?

"I don't think I can do this, Kal," Ally confessed with a shuddering exhale, "I can't help you kill that man,"

"B-"

"I know," She interrupted, finally tearing her gaze away from the beautiful blue sky and turning it to her sister, "I know how much good it could do for me. But I can't... I won't,"

Ally knew what Kali must've thought of her. She knew how weak she must've seemed. And up until now, that was the last thing she wanted. Kali had only been showing Ally how proud she was of her and the last thing Ally wanted was to disappoint her but she needed to say this.

Because it didn't matter what Kali thought.  Just because Ally was choosing to show mercy, because she was choosing not use her anger to hurt another person... didn't make her any weaker than Kali and El. It didn't make her weak.
