Hope's POV

It's been two days since the football game. I've been going to classes to distract myself. Me and Maya have been checking up on Ethan and then we hang out. Everything is good between us. No awkwardness at all. We're back to normal-ish... I am in class when Dr. Saltzman calls me to his office using the P. A system. I excuse myself from class and go to his office.
"P.A. system? It's a little dramatic, don't you think?" I ask going to sit on s chair.
"Not as dramatic as the message Landon left me, saying he had something urgent to discuss. Anything you want to share?" he asks.

"Only that I'm pretty sure the monsters are after him this time." I say.
"And you didn't think that that's something I should know?" he asks.
"More like I was afraid of what you were
gonna say after that."
"Hope. You need to go back to the Salvatore School"he states. "That was it" I really don't want to go back to school. I mean what's the point. It'll only hurt me, going back there and seeing Josie be with someone else. Why go back there and get hurt, when MFHS is just the same. I have the same classes here in MFHS and for the magic classes. I already know everything they have to teach about it. I lived with the Originals for Pete's sake.

"Not for your sake. For theirs. Maybe Landon isn't that important to you. But if Malivore wants him, we need to want him more." Dr Saltzman states.
"Look, I will take care of it, but from a distance." I suggest.
"Okay, what am I missing here, Hope? Hmm? You told me the truth, and everything worked out fine."
"Not the whole truth." I say. "Hmm." I don't think I should tell him this since it's about his daughter. But... I don't know maybe talking about it will help.
"Josie" I say. "What about my daughter?"
"Josie and I... we were in love. Like, real love. Epic love, if that even exists."

"I can assure you it does." he says. "Did you make my daughter happy?"
"Um... Yes? Um... I guess. We were happy." I say reminiscing out time together. "But now she's with Landon, and they don't know what we were to each other. And I'm just afraid that if I tell them, she's gonna hate me forever or he's gonna hate me or I'm gonna hate myself because I made us all miserable. So I can't tell them. Not yet." Before Dr. Saltzman can reply someone knocks on the door. The sheriff." Sorry to interrupt."
"No, it's okay. I was just leaving. I will see you at the pep rally." I state.
"See you there. I hope you consider
the transfer. I can put in a good word for you at the Salvatore School." I hear Dr. Saltzman say as I leave. No. I'm not going back. Not until I'm ready.

Josie's POV

Ever since two days ago, I have had a terrible rash on my arm. I have been trying to get rid of it using a healing gel everyday. That's currently what I'm doing when a someone knocks on my door. "I'm not feeling well, sorry." I state.
"I'm sorry to hear you're unwell." I hear Headmaster Vardemus' voice say. I cover the rash with my sleeve and open the door. "You shouldn't be surprised." He walks in and I close the door.
"You gave me that black magic spell, and because of it, I broke that kid's arm, and mine's not doing so hot either." I roll up my sleeve and he inspects my rash.
"What did your father have to say about this?" he asks.

"I-I haven't had the chance to ask him yet." I say and cover up the rash.
"That's understandable. He was busy starting brawls." he states and turn his back to me as he inspects the healing gels I have been using.
"I'm pretty sure that was your fault, too."
"I may have something that can help that rash of yours."
"I've had enough of your help. I cast that spell, and I'm gonna deal with the consequences." I decline.
"But I'm never doing black magic again." that seems to get his attention as he turns to face me again.
"I would urge you not to limit yourself. Black magic has its place in our craft."

"My dad always said the exact opposite."
"Of course. I cannot think of a single reason why he would want to limit your exceptional abilities." he goes to the door. "If you ever have need to talk... my door is always open." he finishes and leaves the room. I head to the woods during free period to think. Think about wether or not I should accept Headmaster Vardemus' offer. I'm just clearing my head when I hear Dorian talking to someone speaking... Japanese? So I follow the voices and lead me to the back gate of the school. A samurai behind the gates. Definitely Japanese. I guess I can finally use my skills in speaking Japanese. It's has always been something I'm proud of.
