Chapter 39 : You Should Have Said Something (Ep. 6|Part 2)

Lizzie's POV

Me and Landon run to the werewolf transitional space and lock ourselves in.
"This monster is hunting secrets, not you, so at least it has some taste, unlike my sister." I say.
"But that's the thing, no matter what Malivore tells the monsters, they always follow their prime directive first. So tell me whatever secret you're keeping, and maybe it'll stop." he suggest but I keep my mouth shut. "Is it about Hope? It's about Hope, isn't it?" he asks.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I deny. Just then the Croatoan bang on the door and Landon drops the candle in surprise. "Thing was useless anyway." he says and we run into the cell we're the zombie is. "Well, at least I had an idea."

"I just had one, too. Can you make us invisible and break open his cell?" he gestures to the zombie. "I guess. Why?"
"We're gonna do what every great sci-fi franchise does... Kong versus Godzilla,. Alien versus Predator..." he says.
"We're gonna suck?" I ask totally confused at he just suggested.
"That's blasphemy. No, we're gonna... we're gonna let the monsters fight."
"Oh, this is a nerdgasm, not a plan." I groan. " Fine. Then just tell the truth." Hope will probably kill me if I tell spill her secret so I siphon from Landon and make us invisible, then I open the cell door. Me and Landon move away and wait. When the Croatoan enters the room they just go around each other. "I told you, nerd."

"Shh!" "You shh! I have a better plan." I walk inside the cell and call the monster over. "Hey, ugly. Over here." when the Croatoan goes inside I slip out and close the cell and undo the invisibility spell.
"Nice work, but that's not. gonna hold it long, so just... tell me the secret."
"I can't." I say. "Why?" he asks.
"It might put Josie in danger."
"So this is about Josie?"
"No, it's about all of us."
"Lizzie, since when have you kept your mouth shut about anything? Just tell me." he urges. "Fine! It's..." before I can finish my sentence I feel my mouth dissappear. "So this is about you." Landon says. I turn around and see Hope holding a fist keeping from talking.

The Croatoan keeps banging on the bars reaching it's hand out to Hope. The bars are slowly diforming
"We have to get out of here." she says.
"What are you hiding from everyone?"
"There's no time. These bars aren't gonna hold. We have to find some way to stop it." I try to speak but I can't so Hope undoes the spell.
"MG is working on it. Also, because of Landon, there is now a zombie on the loose." I say. "It was a good idea." Landon defends "One monster at a time"
"Raf, take Landon to Dr. Saltzman. Lizzie and I will find a way to keep the Croatoan busy. Let's go." Hope orders and I follow her out of the door and into the gym. I'm gonna get lectured. I just know it.

Hope's POV

"You were gonna tell Landon everything. We had a deal." I say.
"Well, things changed. There's a literally monster hunting secrets. And I do not want to die in my prime." she replies and going to close the door. "What?! "
"Shh. Be angry quietly. There's still a monster chasing us, remember?" just then the Croatoan sitcks its hand out before the door can close Lizzie comes to my side in fear.  On second thought, be as loud as you want. Because we are so screwed."The Croatoan walks to us and we slowly back away.
" Uh, it feeds on secrets, right? So let me have it, all of it." I suggest.
" I prefer to die with dignity." she says.

" Okay, fine, I'll start. Um... I stole your jade butterfly clip in fifth grade." I confess, Lizzie gasps. "I loved that clip!"
"Well, I had a crush on Josie for a week when we were 14." I blurt out for some reason. "That is not a secret Hope!" we back into a sawhorse "Uh, Lizzie? Focus"
"Okay, um, I accidentally killed your hamster. I siphoned you to cheat
on finals." she confesses. "What?"
"And I actually think you're kind of cool." The monster doesn't stop. It moves its caoe away revealing its tentacles.
"Okay, it's not working. It's not gonna stop until everyone knows the secret we've been keeping from them: That I'm back." I say. Just then I hear Josie's voice. "I'm back, too."
