Chapter 21 : So You And Josie? (Ep. 13)

Josie's POV

Me and Hope, both fell asleep instantly once we got into position. But then I wake up to the sound of knocking on the door. Hope's still soundly asleep. She's probably so tired from today. So I get out of her grasp and walk to the door. When I open the door I see my father.
"Josie, what are you doing here? Where's Hope?" he asks confused.
"Um.. I.. Uh..She's still asleep. I.. I'll wake her up." I stutter nervously. My dad just caught me in Hope's room in the middle of the night. He's gonna want explanations sooner or later. I open the door wider so dad can enter the room, and I walk over to the bed and shake Hope awake.
"Hope. Hope. My dad wants to talk to you." I say shaking her. Hope opens her eyes and starts to pull me in.

I move back out of her grasp. She looks up at me confused why I moved away.
"Hope my dad's here, he wants to talk to you." I repeat. Hope finally processes the whole thing and her eyes widen. She gets up from the bed and turns to my father, who is standing there awkwardly.
"Um. What do you need Dr. Saltzman?"
"I need you to do a locater spell. Landon, Rafael, and Mg are gone." he states.
"But it's a full moon." Hopes says. Then we hear howling at a distance "Oh, God."
Hope asks me for help and we both do the locator spell, but we got nothing.
"I don't know the locator spell didn't work." I state.
"If you can't find them, it means they're being cloaked or..." my dad trails off.
"Or they're dead. We know." Hope says.
"What would possess them to leave campus? Why would they be so irresponsible?" dad asks himself.

"They wouldn't. Something must have happened." Hope states.
"Hope, get dressed, we need to find them now." Dad orders and Hope does as she's told and goes to change in the bathroom. Once she's out of the room my dad turns to me. Here we go.
"So...You and Hope?" he asks. I can lie my way out of this, but I don't want to hide anything from my dad. I take a deep breath and sigh. "Are dating."
"Why didn't you tell me? You know I'd support you no matter what" he says.
"I know, dad. But we just got together." I explain. "Does she make you happy?" he asks. I smile just at the thought of Hope. "Yeah. Yeah she does." 
"Good. I'm happy for you."

"Thank you, dad. I love you " I state.
"I love you too, sweetheart. Now tell Hope to meet me at the front of the school, I have to get some flashlights." he states and walks away. Just when the door closes the bathroom door opens.
"Hey" she walks out nervously. I walk up to her. "What's wrong?" I ask.
"Nothing. Just that your dad caught us." she answers. I chuckle at her response. But then a thought crosses my mind.
"Wait. Did you want to keep us a secret?" I ask her. Her eyes widen at my question.
"What?! No! Why would you say that? " she exclaims.
"Well, it's just that you're a very private person, Hope. So I just thought that you wouldn't want anyone to know." I say.

"I would never want to keep you a secret, Jo. I want everyone to know you're mine." she answers as she cups my face, what she says warms my heart.
"Although things are going to get awkward between me and your dad." she chuckles. "Yeah it will."
"Anyway I heard your conversation and I now have to go find the boys." she says.
"Why don't you go to sleep in your room tonight. I don't want you to be alone." she suggests. "But I want to be here."
"I don't want you to be alone, tonight. Please sleep in your room." she pleads.
"Okay, fine" I agree.
"I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow, love." She says as she gives me a chaste kiss.
She lets me go and walks out the door. I sigh and walk back to my room. When I get there I see Lizzie sleeping soundly, I walk over to my bed and drift off to sleep.

Hope's POV

I meet Dr. Saltzman at the front of the school with flashlights. We both head out to the woods to look for them. After a while of searching, Dr. Saltzman clears his throat. Here it comes.
"So you and Josie are dating." he states matter of factly. "Um. Yeah. We are."
"I'm going to be honest with you, Hope. I think it's a little weird for me that you're dating my daughter since I consider you as one. But... you're good for each other. She's been very happy ever since you started hanging out, you too for that matter. But break her heart and I will make you suffer." he threatens. "Yes sir." We continue searching around the woods and make our way to the gates of the school. "Hope." Dr. Saltzman says and points his flashlight towards the gate where we see Rafael, hugging his knees, looking dazed.
