Hope's POV

After what happened with Landon earlier. I went to back my room to get some clothes. When I go went to the library, where I left Landon I see him staring at an ancient-looking knife for a moment before reaching out to open the case. "Don't touch that." I warned.
Landon backs away from the case as though he's been caught stealing and starts to ramble defensively.
"I didn't. I-I mean, I wasn't."
Visibly anxious, Landon changes the subject. "Where are we?"
"Uh, the Stefan Salvatore Memorial Library. All the artifacts in here have a supernatural history." I reply.

Landon points at the knife in the case.
"What's the story on that one?"
"No idea. But, in my experience, your safest bet is to not touch it."
"Noted." We both stand there in silence until I broke it.
"I'm sorry about earlier. You shouldn't have been out there."
"Yeah... I'll file that under "The Things That Seem Really Obvious After The Fact." he replies. We share another awkward pause before Landon changes the subject again.
"So, I guess this means you're a werewolf... He said casually."

"I'm a lot of things."
"Care to elaborate?"
"They're just going to make you forget tomorrow." I say. "Come on. Humor me."
I think about this for a moment before seemingly agreeing to share my story.
I walk around the library looking for the book about my father. When I found it I walk over to Landon and place the book on the table.
"The blood that runs through my veins isn't human. My dad was one of the earth's Original Vampires." I begin to explain.

"Was?" he asks
"Was. Turns out even immortal beings can find a way to die eventually." I open the book and turn it to the page about my father. Landon read the title.
"Klaus Mikaelson: The Great Evil."
"He wasn't very popular around here." I reply. Landon shrugs dismissively.
"One of my foster dads used to burn us with his cigarettes. I guess evil is relative." I am saddened by both the reminder of my father's death and the thought of the horrors that Landon has endured throughout his life. After a moment, I continue my story.
"My mother was a werewolf Alpha."

"There's that "was" again." he observes.
"The people I care about have a tendency to die on me. I try not to get close to people anymore." I say
"Yeah, I can see that." I'm surprised by how much Landon has been paying attention to me, I pause for a moment to look him in the eyes before I get back to the explanation.
"Um, my grandmother was a witch. So, all of those things passed down, making me a--" " --Unicorn?" Landon interjects.
"A hybrid of three different creatures. A tribrid. I can control when I turn, which is what I was doing tonight. I'm the only one of my kind." I explain.

"See? Unicorn." he states. I like how Landon is always so kind. He a good guy, he's normal. I guess that's why I liked him. "Can I show you something?" I ask while walking towards him, where we are face to face.
"Earlier, you mentioned the jock that had messed with you the day we danced..."
I reach up and put my hands on each side of Landon's face, closing my eyes and focusing on my memories of 2 years ago.
"That's the guy. You can just dial up one of my memories like that?" he asks.

"It's not your memory-- it's mine." I say as I show him my memory where I destroyed Connor's car. Landon opens his eyes and looks at me as though he can't believe what he just saw.
"You did that for me?"
"He had it coming." Then I realize that I'm still touching Landon's face with my hands and snap out of the moment.
"Um, we shouldn't be in here after curfew. We should get you back before anyone knows that you're gone." I say.
Me and Landon walk out of the library and head to the cellar.
