Josie's POV

When I get out of my room I see Landon wearing his 80's outfit, outside pacing back and forth. I haven't seen him all day. I was busy with the party planning. But also a part of m didn't want to see him. Something just felt off again, ever since my talk with Hope last night. So hopefully this dance will clear my head.
"Hi. Uh... you look amazing." Landon compliments. "Thank you. So do you."
"Thank you." he hands me a container with a corsage in side. "Um..." "Um..." I day waiting for him to put it on me. But he doesn't so I try to grab it but he pulls it back. "Oh." he finally understood what he did wrong and gets the corsage out of the container. I extend my hand to him. "What did you get up to today?"

"Oh, you know, little bit of this... little bit of that." he replies trying to put the corsage on me. I has a hard time putting it on and I pull my hand back to help him move it a little. "Sorry, I... I'm sorry." he apologizes. "You?" "Same." I reply then stay silent. "You okay? You seem..."
"Yeah. I was... with my dad. It's fine now." I say. He nods in understanding.
"Are you okay? You just... you seem... fidgety." I observed.
"No, no, I'm just, uh... I'm just excited." I look at him unconvinced. He sighs.
"Raf said something that... just got in my head." he says. "What did he say?"
"Um... Well its dance... In the 80's" he says nervously. "What about it?"

"You know... After the dance... Couples go..." he trails of, and I finally understand what he meant. "Oh" I choke out.
"Um... Landon I'm not ready... to go there..yet." I say. "Yeah yeah. No me too."
"You're special. I want it to be special. That moment we both look at each other... and we both know." he says.
"That sounds nice." he comes beside me and links our arms together.
"Let's just enjoy the dance." he states.
"Yeah. Dance is that way." I say pointing behind, to where the Grand Hall is located. We turn around and he links our arms again. "I knew that. Right." he chuckles. We went to the Grand Hall and we enjoy ourselves. We also danced with Kaleb and Mg.

Me and Landon are dancing when I spot Raf walking in. "Hey, Raf!" Landon goes and hugs his brother.
"Hey. Looks like exposure therapy worked." Landon says.
"Depends. Uh, did Hope show up?" Rafael asks. What does he want with Hope? I don't know what's wrong with me, but I don't like the idea of Landon setting Rafael with Hope. Just the mere thought of Raf and Hope makes me so angry for some reason.
"Not yet. But she might show up still. Hang in there. Okay?" "All right."
"You look good." I compliment and pull Landon back to the dance floor. I need to get Hope out of my head.

Hope's POV

Me and Lizzie go back to the forest to hide and make weapons to use against the Minotaur. We don't talk about my decision for a while, until Lizzie speaks.
"I get why you need to take the deal, though. I exist for one reason, too: merge with my sister. That's our destiny, right?" I look at her sympathetically and try to convince her that she's wrong, but she speaks again. "Unless... I stayed herein a no-magic zone. Maybe the merge wouldn't have to happen, and Josie would be safe."
"There's no way I'm gonna let you do that." I state firmly. "I know." The next thing I know I get knocked out by something heavy. Then it's just darkness.

***

When I wake up, Lizzie's gone. She probably took the deal. There are tree branches on top of me so I push it away and get rid of the dust on me. That's when I hear the Minotaur roar. The Minotaur is running towards me. I stand to my feet and grab a huge stick and snap it in half, ready to fight. Then the Minotaur falls, face first and slides just in front of me. That's when I notice an arrow on its back. I look up and see Lizzie with a bow and a smug look on her face. "Where did you get that?" I asked amused. I also notice a man next to her. "Who's he?" I ask. "This is Frank." Lizzie hands back the bow to Frank and he walks away. "Thanks for your help." she walks closer to me.
