"Hands up," Donghyuck chimed as he held out Hyun woo's towel. The child did as his father asked and was soon wrapped up in the fluffy material.

The older brunette lifted and raised the kid to his chest. The pair traveled to his bedroom to change as Rinyoung stayed back.

Resuming her tune, she hummed softly whilst draining the tub and putting away Hyun woo's toys to the side. She laughed aloud to herself remembering catching Jungwoo and Johnny playing around with the toys one morning.

They were amid brushing their teeth when they saw the toys hidden in a container. Curiosity getting the best of them, they spilled the contents out onto the counter and chuckled once realizing what they were.

Jungwoo grabbed the octopus doll—it being really small in his large hands— and talked in a silly voice to Johnny, prompting the taller to do the same.

Rinyoung shook her head, airing out her mind of the joyful memory to continue cleaning. The raven-haired continued to put away the child shampoo and conditioner to the side and finally pushed herself up from her knelt position besides the tub. Her eyes scanned the room in case of anything she missed— which she did as they landed on a stuffed friend.

"Hyun woo must be wondering where you are," She cooed quietly, picking up the stuffed bear. Softly, she held it in her hands and turned off the bathroom lights before walking out to the corridor.

In the hallway, she passed by Jisung and Chenle who's arms were filled with snacks and drinks— all for themselves— supposedly for another all-nighter to play games.

Flashing them a smile, she walked past them and entered the guest bedroom that had ultimately turned into Hyun woo's temporary until the big move.

Walking in, her honey orbs immediately land on the pair cuddling in bed— Hyun woo in his newly bought dinosaur pajamas and Donghyuck holding a fairytale book in front of the child so that he could see as well.

"You're reading red riding hood without me?" The woman whined playfully, jutting her bottom lip out as she pouted. She trudged her way towards them, and stood at the foot of the bed. "I told you i have the best wolf impression,"

Hyun woo giggled in glee as Hyuck chuckled softly to himself, amused by the sudden new side of her.

"We're right before it happens, if you want to join?" Her soulmate asked, raising his arm and pulling his son closer to his chest to make space for her on the bed.

A bright grin instantly formed on the woman's face as she practically skipped their side and slid into the unoccupied space.

The adults shifted so they could both see Hyun woo and the book— both now laying on their sides, facing inwards as the little boy laid on his back looking up at the children's book held in the air.

"Where were we?"

. . .

Snuggled into her chest, Hyun woo buried his face to the fabric of her sweatshirt. Rinyoung stared down at the child, her heart shaking as the sight was too
much to bear. Her lip quivered, her eyes momentarily glancing up to Donghyuck before returning it to the small pout on the child's lips.

The male watched in awe.

"C'mon, let's leave him to rest. It's been a long day," He whispered, gently running his hands through the boy's hair before placing a chaste kiss to his forehead.

Reluctantly, she shifted the boy off of her, so that he laid onto the bed. Once he fully was off her, he cuddled into the blankets more— in search of warmth.

Doing the same as her soulmate, she leant down quickly to given him a goodnight kiss, though she pecked the top of his head on his messy bed of hair.

Moving back, Rinyoung glanced over her shoulder— seeing Donghyuck plug in a bear night light before trailing over to the door frame where he flicked off the lights. The brunette nodded his head and jerked it to the direction behind him, signaling for her to meet him outside.

Warily, she flashed him a tight lipped smile before returning her orbs back to Hyun woo's sleeping figure.

She heard the floor creak, knowing that Donghyuck had entirely left the room, but she paid no mind to it. Her whole being was drawn in by the child that laid asleep.

Her eyes raked over him, lingering on his chest watching it ease up and down with his breathes. She didn't know how she could become so attached and protective over another so fast. It was new.

"I'm not even your mother," She sighed as her fingers delicately caressed his soft brunette locks, the same ones like his father. "But I love you so much,"

Ever since she had met him, something grew at the back of her mind. It made her stare longer, hold in her breath at the tiniest of things, and instinctively reach out to him whenever she could.

It was almost as if she were to stop thinking of him for a split second, he'd become hurt. That's the last thing she ever wanted him to feel. Pain. Her heart clenched at the thought of him crying or letting out a little whimper of discomfort.

She found it weird how she could love someone— she had barely known for a week— more than herself.

"Goodnight, sweetpea."
