— LOST BETS
It was a breezy summer night in Seoul as life of the reckless had only begun. Donghyuck's fingers gripped the leather material of his steering wheel, turning it to the left. His tires screeched against the asphalt pavement as his car skidded across the road, yet he'd soon gain control again.
Lee Donghyuck, for once in his life, he was losing a street race.
The gears in his head turned annoyingly slow as realization had finally dawned upon him. The white vehicle sped ahead of the boy, nearing the spray painted finish line he would always cross first, but not this time.
His car slowed down after passing the red line, stopping right behind the person he despised the most in that moment. In a fit of pure rage, he slammed his hands onto the wheel, his breaths becoming shallow and rigid with every consuming thought of failure. Donghyuck never lost in all his years of illegal street racing.
He couldn't bare the anger that bubbled in him any longer. He threw his door open, a menacing expression blanketing his features as he stepped out of his vehicle. The dark haired boy slammed the door shut, as he began to walk towards the white car. His fingers itched to inflict pain and damage, but unfortunately his friends knew him well and stepped in front of him. He tried to push past them, but hands tightly gripped his shoulders reeling his body back.
"Come on, man. It's not worth it." Mark tried to reason, pushing the younger away gently.
Donghyuck felt infuriated as he watched the car speed off into the night, after having collected their winnings. "Who the fuck is that guy!?"
Taeyong rolled his eyes, folding his arms firmly at the boy's temper.
"Kim Young, one hell of a driver."
. . .
"You. You were the one who beat me?" Donghyuck asked incredulously, as if it was the most bizarre thing he had heard in his life. His brows furrowed together in confusion, glaring daggers at the woman stood in front of him.
He would never imagine her behind the wheel of some car, nonetheless during a street race. She looked too proper and elegant to even step foot onto the outskirts of Seoul.
"Well isn't this a nice reunion." Johnny awkwardly laughed, patting the boys back as he didn't know what to do in this situation.
A smug smirk rose onto Rinyoung's face, reminiscing the events of the particular night.
Donghyuck felt a feeling of pride swell in his heart, making his eyes narrow in bewilderment. He scoffed, once realizing that it was her emotions at that moment. "You arrogant bitch." He spat lowly, eyeing her up and down.
"What'd you call me?" Rinyoung snarled, clenching her fists at her sides.
"An arrogant bi—" Before he could complete his insult, Doyoung interrupted him.
"Haechan take a walk. Now." The older growled sternly.
Donghyuck rolled his eyes painfully slow, as he released a scoff into the tense air. With a bored expression, he begrudgingly turned on his heels and walked to the front door, cursing aloud with each step until he finally reached the wooden frame. Grasping the knob in one hand, he lazily glanced over his shoulders, staring at the enraged girl.
A heavy glare was shared between them, before he parted his lips. "Have fun dying. I don't plan on being anyone's soulmate." His cold tone rang through the thick atmosphere, causing her gaze to harden, burning imaginary holes onto his skin.
"Don't come crawling to me in 7 days." She barked back, poison dripping from her bared teeth. "Fuck you."
Donghyuck chuckled deeply at her attempts of intimidating him. "Get in line, sweetheart." Without another word, he slipped out of the house, escaping the suffocating environment.
Rin clicked her tongue in annoyance, watching the door shut behind him. Reeling her away from her thoughts of strangling him, Mark rubbed her upper back comfortingly, causing her shoulders to drop.
"He's an ass, but he wants to live. He'll come around."
