— COLLISION
Not a single word had been shared between the two since their heated argument in the kitchen. They had avoided each other for the rest of breakfast preparations— Donghyuck going to the living room with Jisung as Chenle stayed in the kitchen with Johnny and Rinyoung. And if the world was out for them, they began to experience a soulmate moment.
"Hyung, you're crying." Jisung spoke aloud with sudden concern, seeing his friend shed tears for the first time in awhile.
Instinctively, the tanned male reached his hand up to his face, his fingers delicately grazing over the newly dampened skin. "What.." He whispered to himself, bewildered by the presence of the salty liquid.
As he wiped the area under his eyes, more tears began to spill. They flowed endlessly— frustrating Donghyuck as he didn't like showing any sign of vulnerability to anyone. He felt naked with Jisung watching him cry.
"What the fuck are you looking at? It's rude to stare." He sneered in frustration as he rubbed furiously at his eyes, attempting to stop the flowing ocean of emotions.
Hearing his change of tone, Jisung gulped nervously and quickly turned his head away. The young boy cursed at his careless nature as he knew his older friend enough to know of his peeves, yet he didn't look away until caught red-handed. He mumbled a small apology— his hand habitually came in contact with his mess of a hair. Jisung ruffled it out of nervousness— staring forward to avoid confrontation again.
As Donghyuck continued to rub his eyes, it seemed like the two had switched emotions, as a feeling of rage washed over Rinyoung.
She rambled on about her clueless soulmate whilst aggressively flipping pancakes onto the pan. She didn't know why she was so angry as just a minute ago she was at the brink of tears, but now it was a total different story.
"He really had the audacity to say that to me. TO ME! Who the fuck does he think he is? Some kind of fucking god! Geez his head is so far up his ass that he's become delusional. I fucking. hate. his. guts." As she grimaced each word from her lips, she slapped the pancake in the pan with her spatula— releasing the sudden pent up emotions in her.
"Rin—"
"He's such an asshole,"
"Rin—"
"A total dickhead and a waste of good looks,"
"Rinyoung please stop slapping the innocent pancake." Johnny asked softly, gently grabbing the rubber utensil from her hands as he pushed her away with a bump of their hips. "Why don't you set the table as I finish up here?"
"What—"
"Thanks." The older blew her a playful kiss before returning his attention to preparing the food.
Defeatedly, she listened and trudged her way to the dining room with a stack of plates and a box of utensils. Whilst dispersing the different items to every inch of the long table, angry thoughts swirled around her mind. She couldn't let her and Donghyuck's argument go, as well as his new name.
"Donghyuck.." she whispered, liking how the name fell from her lips, yet not how it made her feel internally. Rinyoung felt giddy when speaking of his real name, and it was weird.
And that wasn't the weirdest thing that happened in the last 24 hours.
Then it dawned on her.
She was gonna live with him, see him everyday, until she was back on her feet.
. . .
All the boys were all sat at their respective seats around the dining table— happily eating the breakfast which was prepared just for them.
Rinyoung sat between Mark and Jaehyun. Their laughter and conversation flowed through the air vibrantly, and soon enough everyone began to jump into their discussion. The girl became silent— a large grin etched onto her face as she viewed the boys around her. They talked and laughed, poking fun at one another like a close knit family would, and they were. Blood or not, they were family, and she felt the sense of security they all had built between them.
She didn't feel out of place.
They all seemed like a nostalgic daydream, they treated her as if they've known her since diapers, and she wasn't complaining.
Donghyuck, sat across from her, narrowing his eyes at her smile. Watching her blend in so well with his members was a mind reset.
She was a princess, treated like one and was known to act like one. She wore pearls, name brand dresses and merged with the biggest names of South Korea.
NCT were a bunch of guys who were outcasted, thrown out by their families, spit upon by others. They killed, raced and did many more illicit doings to pay their bills and feed the numerous mouths they had. They were gang members with hearts of gold, but no one would know, as they were always demonized.
Tattoos littered their bodies, piercings adorned their faces and ears, and guns were slipped into their grasps at a very young age.
But she, she was everything they despised and they were everything she was told to avoid as a young girl. But, here they were talking with one another as humans, no titles or labels, just people.
He sharply inhaled, seeing his world and hers collide right in front of his eyes.
The worst part was, he didn't mind it.
